Most Helpful Positive Review Lighter boot for extra comfort.
I own 3 pair of Zamberlan boots. They are expensive compared to other manufacturers but I have found that if you watch and wait for the discounts on CampSaver you can get them for a really great price. These are lighter than my other Zamberlans and are great for the warmer months. High qualities material and Italian boot making expertise. The size is true. I normally wear a 10 US, 44 EURO, and order my size. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable right out of the box. I like a medium height in a hiking boot with good support. I have worn many different boots in 6 decades of being outdoors...

Lightweight comfort in rugged well made boot

by bud, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on October 23, 2024
I have had a pair of Zamberlan backpacking boots for years and they fit perfectly, are well made, and are tough as nails, but my older leather-lined boots are also heavy. These trail lite boots are surprisingly lightweight, and the single-piece leather naturally wraps around the foot to give comfortable support with no hot spots, and that's with new boots: I have about 12 miles on them so far. No seams means they will seal out water well, the soles grip well while being less prone to bring forest duff home, and the quality is what I expected from Zamberlin. I always take a half size larger than street shoes for hiking/backpacking boots, and these fit similarly. Could not be happier.
Pros:
  • Comfort, Support, Craftsmanship, Materials
Cons:
  • expensive at retail--& worth it!
Best Used for:
  • Hiking & Backpacking
Would recommend: Yes

You'll get what you pay for!

I normally don't write reviews on anything until I've used the item extensively but I will make an exception here. I will also say fit and comfort in hiking footwear is very subjective. What works for me may not necessarily work for you.

I've tried many different hiking boots in more than 50 years of wandering about, and Zamberlan's fit me the best. For more than 20 years, the Vioz has been my go-to boot. I don't wear them year round because goretex lined leather boots can be hot here in the MidAtlantic region. The Zamberlan Trail Lite Evo GTX was immediately comfortable right out of the box. In my past, I was a boot fitter, and these clicked all the buttons (for me and my feet!!).

According to Zamberlan, these are made on the same boot Last as the Vioz. So if you own the Vioz and want to try a ligher weight boot, these could be it. Fit and feel is identical except they are MUCH lighter in weight. I usually size up 1/2 for hiking boots. With proper lacing, it allows plenty of room for toes, and the fact that feet swell some when walking. I have no heel slippage, and toes do not touch the toe when walking steep downhill. I will review further after they get banged around on the trail a bit.

One other note - current 'fashion' in the hiking field are very light weight trail runners, or boots made of sewn together pieces of fabric and leather. I'm not a fan of either. I've used them. The can fall apart fast. I have always found leather boots (especially single piece outer...

Happy Feet

by rwine, from NC, United States Written on December 16, 2021
I ordered these hikers needing a new pair because my old reliables that had hiked GrandCanyon and section hiked some AT were coming apart. These Zamberlan’s are by far the most comfortable hiking boots I’ve had on my feet in sixty- seven years of my life. I looked at them for weeks wondering should I or shouldn’t I? I’m glad the should I won out. True to size and very comfortable out of the box and weeks later still making my feet happy.
Pros:
  • Soft leather and comfort
Cons:
  • Not any yet
Best Used for:
  • So far hiking
