I walk 2 – 3 miles every day, and this jacket was supposed to handle any excessive heating in the “shoulder” seasons – too cold for just a base layer, and not cold enough for a coat. Unfortunately for me, the sleeves fit extremely tight around my forearms. If I had on a long sleeve shirt under this jacket, my arm would not fit through the sleeves. I like the design and will look for another polartec alpha jacket.

I used it for four days in the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mtn. NP, and it was great working both as a breathable fleece in the day and a puffy at night. It survived light rain and tramping through bushes without a problem. This is my new go-to insulation for everything.
