I'm a former mountain guide and have owned and used hundreds of biners in the last 30+ years. This is the best I've ever used. Great weight for a full-sized biner, and you can still easily clip with gloves on so it can be used in all 4 seasons. They have a big enough basket to easily fit 2 clove hitches. Best Used for:
Everything. I'm replacing nearly every non-locki g biner with these, except racking biners.
I love the fact that these biners are full sized for easy handling with or without gloves. Excellent feel and weight. A bit pricey, but worth it when you consider alpine trad climbing where every ounce saved is critical to achieving your goal without feeling like a pack mule. I'm a minimalist at heart.
