Some reviews I've read before purchasing this stated it was difficult to inflate. I'm in my mid-fifties and can inflate this mattress with very little effort in about two minutes. I chose this mattress over the self inflating type because it's about half the weight. I have used this pad on 16 bag nights so far and it has performed great.It is easy to inflate and ajust the firmness you desire.I'm a big guy at 6' 230 pounds and a side sleeper and I sleep like an angel on this pad. I have a bad back and the 2.5 inches of air that keep me off the ground have eliminated my back pain when camping. I find it very comfortable especially when used with the a Big Agnes sleeping bag which has a built in sleeve to hold the pad in place. This pad is an elite pad. I've slept on many different pads outdoors and this is the best. It is super comfortable- as a side sleeper this gave me the best nights sleep ever.
