Bought this for backpacking because it is supposed be a backpacking tent but it's just to heavy all though it is a great tent and easy to set up would be great for a weekend camping trip but just to much weight for my personal taste
We've moved on from the Apex series, not rugged enough for constant use by our boys. The Mt Pass 2XTE is bigger and we req. 2 doors so there is no climbing over someone to get in/out.

Bought 20 of these for the Scout Troop after researching a lot, wanted soothing to hold up to abuse. They have more or less, especially when set up right. After a few years, I just bought my own so I don't risk getting a fart or puke tent from their stash.
My husband and I went to Colorado for a week and camped off several 4 wheel drive trails in the mountains from 11000 to 14000 feet all week. We experienced heavy squals usually not lasting more than an hour or 2 and 1 in particular had golf ball sized hail and this tent held up great, "like fort knox".
