This backpack weighs a pound. The next lightest here (with similar capacity) is two pounds. It achieves this by using lightweight materials and by not having a frame, external or internal. For comfort it depends on having a sleeping pad flat in the interior against your back. If you load it with heavy equipment it will break. It probably has a weight limit, but if your pack is ... This was my first experience with a frameless backpack and I was surprised how comfortably it carried its load -- as long as you stayed below the 15-20 pound mark. It becomes quickly uncomfortable above that weight range. The backpack has great durability, and has withstood everything I threw at it.. except for ice axes which shredded the front mesh, but that is probably becau... Read more

I’ve had this pack for about a year and have used it for winter, spring and summer trips. My typical base weight is 12lbs and this pack works great. For longer trips with heavier food loads, I find that the shoulder straps are to thin and start feeling uncomfortable when carrying more than 25lbs. That said, the construction seems solid and I think the pack could easily handl... Read more

I had 1.7 kg 60 L backpack bought 2 year ago, but it is a little bit heavy for me for 3~4 days trail hiking packed tent, sleeping bag, etc.
Regarding weight of backpack this is highly recommendable item for long distance hikers & climbers.

After receiving pack I checked the fit and build. First impression is very light and well built. Put pack on empty and fit my 21in. torso. Loaded with 18 lbs of base weight prwparing for an overnight trip the next day. Put on the pack loaded and cinched down straps to discover the bottom shoulder cinch straps were threaded through the buckles incorrectly. This error from the f... Read more
Pros:

Cons:
Check straps before planning a trip
Best Used for:
20lbs as recommended. Over that and the pack becomes uncomfortable
This is the 2. Updates from the previous version include, "redesigned shoulder straps, a true “roll top” closure to keep out the elements, a mesh pocket in front and a padded hip belt. There are also some weight saving tweaks―10mm rather than 1” webbing that keep the weight below the original version even with the added features! The end re...

The Pack measures 8.5 inches deep, 22 inches tall (to the end of the main compartent, not including the roll top which extends about another 15 inches) and 10.5 inches wide. It fits either size of Bear Vault no problem, but you might want the smaller one to be able pack it up high in the pack so it's not digging in to your pack while hiking. Hope t...
