I bought three of these beautifully finished locking carabiners.The gate is super smooth. They are an excellent compliment to any climbing rack. They are also tested to 25% of breaking strength giving them added security in any situation.
The HMS means that it's compatible with a Munter hitch. They have to make the carabiner more round to do this, which generally adds weight. The carabiners labeled HMS are generally better to use with a belay device than the non-HMS ones due to the shape. Alternately, non-HMS are better for lightweight locking biners for general use.
