I have used mine for about 5 years, and I have to be honest. I have not cleaned or taken special care of it and it still works flawlessly! I have a repair kit just in case, but I have not had to use it yet. I am very happy with this purchase.

this is a beast of a stove. it burns just about anything and is built like a tank….except the fuel pump. the weakest link in this system is the fuel pump. not like the old metal pumps at all. this new pump looks like it’s all plastic, and not very durable. i think a spare pump along on any trip would be prudent.
I have used many of the MSR stoves, this stove rocks and saves you time, money and burns anything. I was in Cameroon for 8 months and used it every day of the 6 months living in a tent and it never missed a beat. I used ALL of the fuels that it could possibly use and I never had to clean it, maintain it or do any repairs. If you can afford it and want the nest stove on the plan... Read more

I burned regular unleaded for 10 days in the pyrenees without having to clean once, the older model of XGK WOULD require me to clean the stove head every 3~4 days on regular fule. This ... Read more
Each stove and brand will boast different features, so comparing them all side by side can be difficult. I can tell you that the MSR XGK is a stove I like. With that said, however, I certainly wouldn't downplay the Nova+ and several other stoves you have listed here. All are high quality options.
