Is the down likely to compress or shift with use?

Internal barriers at both top and foot end will prevent down shift between the baffle.

This pad does have a higher R value, so it will definitely work as a 3 season pad. It could be a little warm in the summer, but you can compensate by using a lighter sleeping bag or sheet depending on the temperatures.
