Does as advertised!
Excellent quality pad, warm and pretty stout for a lightweight air pad! Used it in the Sierra's for a 4 day Winter backpacking outing and the UL 7 downmat kept me toasty. The temps dropped to the mid 20's but this pad kept me from feeling the cold ground. I have an REI 25 degree synthetic bag that left me chilly when using my old Thermarest UL pad. It was either time for a warmer (and costly) bag or a new pad. So I checked out reviews for a good Winter pad and liked what I read about this one and am happy to say it meets my expectations. It weighs a couple of ounces more than a non-down pad bu...

Excellent, but takes a minute to set up to get best warmth
I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the effort required to distribute the down inside evenly on cold nights. If you're using it on nights above 25 degrees it's not likely an issue, but all the down in there is loose, so to prevent cold spots you need to backlight it with a bright flashlight and then shake/slap it around & hold it upright to move the insulation around and distribute it evenly. Sounds easier than it is if you're really trying to do a good job of it. Once it's set up right the pad is the shiznit.

This mat is very comfortable
This mat is very comfortable and warm and quiet. I really like this pad! I especially the two valve system. it is very easy to pump up with the pump sack and then you don't have to try and keep the air in while closing the valve like on other brand sleeping pads. Now I just hope the baffles don't pop open like this pad seems to have a penchant for doing.

great pad
haven't used it in the cold yet so I can't speak to how warm it is, but it is super comfortable. I am a 5'4" female. I purchased the small size fearing it might be uncomfortably short, but it's not. When I stretch out fully on my stomach/back my toes/heels hang jsut off the end but it's not uncomfortable. And since I sleep mainly on my side it works out perfectly. In fact, the primary reason I went with this mat was because I wanted to sleep on my side without my hips and shoulders and the ground and I'm not disappointed.

DownMat UL 7 sleeping pad
I bought this sleeping pad thinking it was going to be more comfortable than my cheap 14 year old thermarest. While it's comfortable against skin and not noisy, I was disappointed in the fact that when sitting up I could feel the ground or when I laid on my side, my hips would come close to touching the ground. Laying on back it seemed comfortable but I'm a side sleeper. I'm 6'2" tall and 185lbs. I'm not small but I'm not big either. I know it's important for me to sit on mat while eating or whatever and having sink down was a bummer. The schnozzle inflation bag was cool though.

Exped DownMat 7 UL
Just purchased Exped Downmat 7 UL, very warm and comfortable but after 3 nights of use the welds in the baffle system started coming loose. I contacted Exped warranty department and they immediately sent a new mat to me. Great customer service but I hope the new matt will ast a little longer.
