which size would fit the Trangia Spirit Stove w/Mini Windshield best? thanks.

The burner rests inside the windshield whose dimensions include a 3.5 inch diameter and a 2.5 inch height. It will fit into either sized Mess Tin, but more snugly in the Small.

Yes, it will secure the lid, though it is a pretty tight fit by itself.
