It's light and useful.
Good gear for camping and it is a really nice cookware. Light weight and useful; can be multiple way to use, especially for cooking rice.
It helps a lot. Inside, it holds a chafing fuel can, a stove ring, a spoon and a case of matches, with room to spare for other extras. See my photo showing the mess tin with its contents. It wouldn't be my first choice for a cook set, but if you're looking for something more durable than a beer can, lighter than stainless steel, and cheaper than titanium, then this fits the bill nicely.

Prompt service and reasonable price. There is a LARGE Mess (ALUMINUM)

Aluminium Mess Tin Review
This is a handy little container, It's nice because you can cook with it, and for storing stuff the lid stays on firmly and does not need to be fastened. If this will be used more for cooking I would recommend the model with the handle.

Get the handled version!
There is a handled-version of this which is more utility. I purchased this to store a medikit - Not bad!

Aluminum Mess Tin
The size is perfect for Survival Kits we assemble, but it needs two holes (one each side) drilled in the lower pan lip to place a handle to boil water. Realize a clamp on-handle would be nice, but those I have seen were not stable and not safe to use. The Stainless wire is set and big pan can be hung on a green stick over the fire.Handle would be nice to add to the lid for frying pan.
