Great tent for me: very easy setup, lightweight, and comfortable! The stuff sack is a little bigger than needed making packing quickly.
Amazing balances weight at performance perfectly.
A perfect model for long backpacking trips.

The Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 is a high-performance two-door backpacking tent for people that want more space and comfort than lighter models offer. It wins our Editors' Choice Award because of its excellent execution on a solid design, creating a roomy, lightweight shelter.

After reading reviews I was skeptical of ordering online, but decided to give it a try anyway. I was thrilled when my tent arrived 3 business days later. I have since set the tent up and all seams, zippers, poles, tent stakes and storage bags are in perfect condition. Tent is under 3lbs and fits perfectly in my backpack. There is plenty of space inside this tent for myself and my dog plus all my gear if I decide to bring my pack inside. The vestibules at either door provided extra storage for gear if I chose to have another camper share the tent. This tent takes just under 4 min to set up (probably less for someone more experienced than me). Completely satisfied with my order and campsavers customer service.

I just purchased the tent and set it up at home. Very light and compact, at first I thought I must be missing some pieces ... easy to setup. I also purchased teh footprint, which was highly recommended.
I do not have heaps of tenting experience, but when they say 2 person tent, they must be referring to elves. I am 5'10" 170lbs and I just fit comfortably in this tent, a second person would not be a restful night. This seems to be standard and does not go against the Big Agnes tent
Pros:
- very light, compact and easy setup

well it remains to be seen... i was going go go initially for the tiger wall for the weight savings, but after much research i decided that i wanted a bit more durability and a tent that was 100% standalone, not to mentionthe added space... seeing this material which has been described as more durable than the tigerwall i'm happy I ordered this one... i dont think i would have iked anything that looked less durable than this.. material is thin for my standars but i hop it will be as durable as many review describe.. if i had gotten the tigerwall most likely it would have not lasted...
i think all those advantages on this one are worth the added weight... plus, i got this at a discount in campsaver because the new model is coming in.. and since the updates are good but nor a requirement for me.. i'm glad with the whole purchase

This is the first tent I purchased for hiking. It is very light, easy to assemble, and reliable. The footprint is a must buy item if you want to protect your sleeping pad and make your tent a bit cleaner after camping. I may get another lighter Big Agnes model later.

Fabric is thicker than expected. Tent is super light, will be a dream to stuff in my pack. Can’t comment on performance since I haven’t used it yet. It’s winter here now in western Pennsylvania or I would have it out testing it. When it warms up and turn spring, I will definitely put it to the test under rainy conditions.

It’s all about the weight in backpacking and short of taking just a tarp or cowboying, this tent is very light and reasonably easy to set up. With two people sharing, one can carry the tent and fly and the other the poles and stakes. For one person carrying, it’s a bit bulkier to pack but still very light. After you’ve set it up the first time it’s pretty easy going forward. Takes a little longer to set up than I’d like but it benefits from staking our all the tie downs for the fly, though the tent itself is free standing. The stakes that come with it are too short to be useful in windy conditions, especially for the fly. They lack a sufficient hook on the end so I’ve replaced them with after market stakes that are longer and are hooked on the end to hold the tent straps down. It’s a tight squeeze for two plus packs inside but in good weather the vestibules created by staking out the fly on both sides - there are zippered doors on both sides of the tent - provide space for packs and boots. It is not sold with a footprint which I bought separately and is a must both for more insulation and floor protection. This tent is great for one person with plenty of space for pad, sleeping bag and pack. There are plenty of overhead pockets in the ceiling to store all manner of stuff plus many small ties to use for hanging things like a lightweight solar powered lantern. All in all a great tent from BA.
Pros:
- Very lightweight
- well designed by pros
- good for backpacking
- Lots of overhead storage
Cons:
- Stakes too short and lack sufficient hooks on ends to hold down tent tie downs
- Expensive but you get what you pay for in gear
- Footprint must be bought separately and is a must
Best Used for:
- Backpacking and through hiking
