Most Helpful Positive Review A dream of true!
Last year I told my husband I wanted a warm, light weight sleeping bag with room to roam. For Christmas he bought me the tiniest sleeping bag in the world, so returned it and bought my Ethel. I haven't camped in it yet, but did try it out for a half in hour this week when the temperature was 5Ëš. Eve...

Most Helpful Negative Review Altered bag
This bag arrived missing ~8 oz of down from chest cavity, there was a seam that was visibly restiched both along an upper vestibule and foot bed. There was hardly any down in the chest area.

Warm and soft

So i ordered the short, I am 5'3" i would say that it is perfect for me but if you are taller, they say under 5'6" you may hit the bottom depending on how you lay in it. I am waiting for the mat but took it out this past weekend with low 30 temps, im cold all the time and i was so warm! the only thing i am not happy with is the hood, it is great if you just stick your head in it and lay flat but i have a sea to summit air pillow and it does not fit in the hood (to large) i tried to sleep with it under the hood between my old air pad and the bag and it just moved all over the place. i opted to just put it in the bag and not be able to use my hood at night to keep my head warm. it worked but on colder nights i will want to use the hood. i would say if you just sleep on your layers it might still be a snug fit with your head and layers in the hood. the feel of the bag is great and i can't wait to try it out with the proper air pad that fits the bag. the one thing i am not sure about is i like to curl up and when the air pad is in the bag you will not be able to pull the bag up and snuggle, that may just be an adjustment i need to make but i had plenty of room to side sleep and pull knees up inside the bag.
Pros:
  • Price
  • warm
  • great feel
Cons:
  • small hood
  • short means short
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking
  • cold sleepers

Didn't know if I'd like a bag with an integrated pad, but Big Agnes' Ethel is a wonderful addition to my camping gear.

We just got back from a camping trip. The low was 14 wind chill -10. I was pretty warm. I think I had my pad the wrong way. Oops. But I stayed on my pad. No rolling off. :)

Great cold weather bag

This was for my wife as she is ALWAYs cold when camping. Went to the mountains and camped in the snow last weekend. This was the first time ever that she wasn't cold. Highly recommend this bag for any ladies out there that are cold when camping. Great price and great shipping from Camp Saver. Will shop here again.

Love it so far!

Haven't had a chance to take it outside yet, but it's kept me very toasty in my freezing dorm! Fits me very well (I am 5'5" and bought the petite). Looking forward to a climbing trip in November where I can really test the warmth.

Toasty bag

I love this sleeping bag, super warm but still roomy enough for me to sleep on my tummy or side. The big agnes system is great...I tend to toss and turn all night and with the pad in the sleeve I never roll off it or get twisted and tangled in my bag!
I especially love the rectangular shape of this bag as I find mummy bags very claustraphobic. The neck draught collar is lovely and soft, eliminat

Awesome

This bag is awesome! The pillow pocket where you can put clothes/pillow/valuables into was great. It was pretty roomy and the fact that the pad slipped into the bottom was even better! The only thing I would say about it is that the shorter bag is really for short people (5'1" or less - it worked good for me though). I'se used it for a short hiking trip in the spring and a week long backpacking tr

Seems quite nice

by SS, Written on September 10, 2011
I haven't tried this out yet, but it looks great and seems like it'll be quite warm. I zipped myself into it while in the house, and it was cozy and pretty roomy. In addition to the stuff sack, it came with a larger storage bag that allows the bag to "breathe" while still being neatly tucked away.
