Most Helpful Positive Review Quality Sleeping Pad
10/10. Fit the large Big Agnes 78x20 sleeping bag I also purchased with it extremely well. Kept me warm throughout the nights I went camping in 30 degree weather. I would recommend this to anyone purchasing a sleeping bag quilt.
Most Helpful Negative Review Great product, too big for my sleeping bag.
We got the double wide and it doesn’t fit in our king Solomon Big Agnes sleeping system. Bummer too cause it’s so comfortable to lay on and was 50$ cheaper than the one that is shorter and more narrow. I don’t see why big Agnes couldn’t make their sleeping systems accommodate both size pads. Would b...

A good all around pad for backpacking

by Bruce G, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 22, 2022
The Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Ultra is a good three season (fall, winter, spring) pad for me. I purchased the 72" by 25" which weighs in at 28 ozs. As a backpacker weight is important to me. I consider 28 ozs acceptable for an R4.5 pad with the extra comfort I get. I'm an active side sleeper. The larger outer tubes help keep me on the pad for a better night sleep. I use a lighter weight pad (lower R value) on my warmer weather trips.
Pros:
  • weight
  • Warmth
  • durabililty
  • larger outer baffles
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • three saeson backpacking

Pad is nice, but total weight of package is more than advertised

by Grayson, from MI, United States Written on December 22, 2021
The pad itself is very nicely made and seems up to warmth standard. Easy to inflate with the included bag. however the weight of the whole setup is a bit more than advertised. on my chemistry grade scale, sleeping pad weights 28.8oz, whole setup including inflation bag and repair kit weighs just over 34 oz. a bit heavy sadly. if weight doesnt matter to you then this pad setup is dope.

Lightweight and warm

by Homie, from NC, United States Written on May 7, 2020
Lightweight and durable pad. High quality at a bargain price. This sleeping pad pairs nicely with the Big Agnes pump. Chose this pad because of the weight, price and r value. It’s very compact and comes with a stuff sack.

Nice pad / sleeping bag system

by svk, from UT, United States Written on May 3, 2020
If you have to sleep on the ground this pad paired with the Big Agnes sleeping bag is a nice system. The pad slips into the slot on the bottom of the sleeping bag so you don't slide off the pad. The Air Core pad is easy to inflate to the level of support you like and deflate when you need to pack it up with the large valves. I haven't used it in colder tempatures yet so I cannot speak to the insulation value, but as far as sleeping pads go it works well.

Haven’t used it yet but...

Haven’t used it yet but I did set it up in my living room. Easy to inflate/deflate. I have a Klymit static v which I love but it is VERY hard to get all the air out to roll up, it wasn’t a problem with this pad. Super comfy.

Air Core Ultra is great!

by SILHiker, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on November 23, 2019
I've used a BA Air Core Ultra (non-insulated) for several years, and have never had any issues with it. Some people say that they're noisy, but it's never bothered me. I've never noticed even a bit of deflation overnight. I'm a side sleeper and never have felt my hip hit the ground. Seems to be very well built. I've not taken the insulated one out yet, but I did air it up and lay on a laminate floor on it, it seems exactly like the non-insulated version. I hope so, because I really only bought it for the insulation, my regular air core ultra is still holding up fine! It came with a free pad inflation sack which I've tried out and works fine, I'll just have to decide whether the usefulness of the sack justifies the additional weight to carry.
Pros:
  • extremely durable
  • Extremely comfortable
Cons:
  • Not The Lightest

Great Camping Pad

by Skitym, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on June 18, 2018
I bought this for use with an Amok Draumr hammock. It fits well and is very supportive. The pad is warm and comfortable. I did quite a bit of research before selecting this particular pad and have not regretted the he choice. The best feature is the pressure release valve making it extremely easy to adjust the firmness. I can’t wait to get it out on my next kayaking trip.
Pros:
  • Super Comfortable
Cons:
  • None

I ordered my big Agnes insulated Air Core ultra sleeping pad after trying a friends. It was incredible! It’s a full inch thicker and more compacted than my old one. They are both the Regular size. I received my new pad timely and it was nicely packaged. I recommeñd this product and seller.
Pros:
  • Good value

Great Kids Pad

by TipsyPaddler, from MN, United States Written on December 21, 2017
Bought this pad to go with a BA Little Devil kid’s sleeping bag. BA bags need good pads to get the full insulation capability and this pad fits the bag’s sleeve very well. Sleeve keeps kid from squirming off the pad in the middle of the night. Easy to inflate and deflate and very light weight.
Pros:
  • Light and insulated
Cons:
  • None

Awesome

by James W., Verified Owner from MS, United States Written on March 16, 2017
Super comfortable. Packs up small. Lightweight.
Haven't used it camping yet, but will test it out tomorrow night. Temps in the low 40's so pad should be very warm
Pad is also quiet unlike some others that sound like a potato chip bag.
