Most Helpful Positive Review Firstlight tent- 2 person, 4 season
Great tent for the price and light weight. Used it on the Northville Placid Trail and loved it!
Most Helpful Negative Review Doesn't last...
When I first used this tent, I loved it. It's only significant limitation was the inadequate awning over the door. However, it's now ~5yr since I bought it and it's no good anymore. The year before last, I spent the night in a very light drizzle and every drop to hit the tent spritzed my face with a...

Great Tent, just not for tall people

by Jason S., Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on May 5, 2016
Wow, this tent is such a great tent. Lightweight and packs down small.

I cannot see why people think this tent is not a great tent. It does almost everything.

My only two complaints are that it is not seam sealed from the factory and it is not very long. The length was a huge problem for me because I am so tall (6'3"). In my winter sleeping bag I had to sleep diagonally meaning no second person will be able to join me if needed. If I sleep lengthwise I am sleeping with my head on one wall and my feet out the door. It just didn't work. As for the seam sealing, it comes with seam sealer so you can do it yourself. More of an inconvenience than a negative.

This tent still gets 5 stars. It's not BD's fault I am tall.

The Black Diamond "Firstlight-2P-4Season tent w/ vestibule affords the minimalist hiker/camper the best of both worlds.Weighting in at 5lb.5oz.(tent,poles,footprint and vestibule) divided by 2 hikers is less than 3lbs. a piece,do-able!Because of the material that this particular tent is made of,it is advisable that you completely seam seal the entire interior prior to any outing.All-in-all this is

Great Tent

by Michael, from MO, United States Written on September 10, 2011
I have used this tent backpacking for 60+ nights and could not be any happier. It is extremely light and comfortably holds me and my gear, set's up very easily and can sleep 2 if desired (without gear). It has held up well in high winds. It is single wall but I have not had any condensation problems although I use it primarilly in the desert and mountains. Great Tent!
