Its so nice to be able to have a removable attachment to make normal poles into whippets within seconds.
There is no reason to be unprepared anymore. Just keep these in the back pack and have them available at a moments notice. Weight is not bad on them.
But the removable feature is just unbeatable.
Pros:
Removable
Cons:
None
Best Used for:
Backcountry skiing
Would recommend: Yes

I have one of these already and I bought another to have with me on my trips. They fit very securely in the top of my BD carbon cork alpine trekking poles, and are very sturdy. It's nice having an option that is light and rugged for traversing steep snow banks, and it takes up very little room when stowed in my pack. Thankfully I've yet to put it to use, but I'm glad I have them in case of a fall.
Pros:
Can catch you in a fall
Cons:
Won't pull you up a wall
Best Used for:
snow trekking
Would recommend: Yes
