Light, comfortable, compact and just the right width

Written on May 21, 2015

I own both the regular and large versions of the NeoAir XLite sleeping pads. The regular size was not wide enough for me and I am a average to small adult. Ended up giving it to my 14 yr old son. The Large version ended up being the perfect size for me. It's pricy though. Quality, comfort and light weight make this a first class pad. I have read reviews saying that the NeoAir XLite pads are noisy but that has not been my experience. Can't hardly hear anything once you put a sleeping bag on top of the pad. I also have the battery powered mini pump to air it up and it works great. Takes about 2 1/2 minutes to fill the regular size pad and about 3 1/2 minutes to fill the large pad. I just do some other camp chore while it is filling.

Osprey Volt 75 perfect pack for Philmont

Written on Apr 18, 2015

I purchased the Osprey Volt 75 pack for my son to use on a 12 day trek to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. It has enough room for all of his gear but is still reasonably light @ 3.5 lb for a full featured 75 liter pack. The pack is very thoughtfully designed and has lots of torso adjustment so it can be adjusted as my 14 yr. old son continues to grow. He can use this pack through Scouting into adulthood. Very high quality and value to price ratio. CampSaver had this pack on clearance and then I had a 20% off internet coupon code so I paid about $100 less than the MSRP for this pack.Pack arrived in 4 days sealed as new with all tags. This was my first purchase from CampSaver I am very happy with the experience. I will be making many more purchases from CampSaver.
