rainproof rather than waterproof

Have taken this on a few multi-day walks through the bush in queensland, australia. we got quite a bit of rain and fortunately our map stayed dry, but i would say that was more because we kept our map inside our bag.. which also stayed dry.

the crucial down-fall is that it opens with a zip protected with a rain cover. but a zip is never going to be fully waterproof. i would much rather have my ma

reasonable quality, but unnecessary

if you know you want a footprint then you should buy this. it's reasonable quality and will fit your tent perfectly.

if you're not sure if you need a footprint then i reckon you can give it a miss. it just adds weight and cost. the base of the kelty salida 2 is already reasonably strong, and unless you plan on doing something silly like camping on sharp stones then i don't really see the point.

lightweight and good value for money
