The Punk Balaclava works very well compared to the competition.
The pertex ear coverings are genius. I took it to a mountain top last week on a morning when the wind chill was around -60F (-15F with 50mph winds), and my ears were the warmest part of my head. I had minimal fogging while wearing goggles with it, even when sheltered from wind.
The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that there aren't enough or large enough breathing holes. I know it has to protect your face, but during the more strenuous sections of my climb, air didn't come through it as fast as I needed it to, so I had to pause and uncover my mouth a couple times so I could catch my breath. I plan to get a punch out and pop a larger few holes in the mask right in front of my mouth, which should hopefully solve this.

Let me start off by saying that this kit came for free with my Jetboil Flash PCS Java Kit. I wouldn't have considered buying it if not. I would have just kept using my titanium spoon and probably scratched the heck out of the inside of my PCS with that.
I really like how the curves on the spoon get into the bottom of the jetboil PCS so that you don't miss any food making the PCS easier to clean af

Great Pillow! Much more comfortable than expected for a baffle-free air pillow. There is a slight sensation of sleeping on a balloon still, but it is quite minimal. I like the various shapes and angles on it, you can always find a comfortable orientation.
It's light, packs down so tiny there's no reason not to bring it. I used to be a purist who though a crumpled up extra jacket or fleece - if it

I bought this for times when I'm car camping and want to do things like make pancakes and bacon in the morning. I'm not one for carrying pots and pans with me through the forest, I save my Jetboil for that.
It has a great simmer (provided you have a sheltered campsite), even heat, and high output when you need it. I have no trouble lighting the stove. It's very stable.
For the insanely low price,

I now have 3 sleeping mats. A Thermarest Prolite regular length, the Exped Downmat 9 regular length, and a Thermarest Ridgerest short length (plus a thermarest zlite seat that I have used as an extension to make my ridgerest full length).
I may never use my prolite again. The downmat is about 50% heavier than the prolite, but 3 times as thick and over 2 times the insulating value. It is like sle

I should start by saying that I had a pretty good idea what I was going to get when this pad arrived. I have an Exped Downmat 9, and while doing research on the Synmat UL 7, I exchanged some emails with Exped customer service (extremely helpful by the way) to get some more detailed specs on this pad and a better comparison of it to some of their others. I've also watched many of the exped videos t

I have only had one chance to use the Jetboil hanging kit so far, but here's my initial opinon:
The Good - You can hang your stove from anything strong enough to support it. Great for places where the ground is not firm or flat or you are on snow. I used the kit because my campsite was on a sloping bed of moss and short grasses about 6" deep and there's no way to set a stove on it.
Hanging kit is

I purchased a pair of these to compliment my MSR Lightning Ascent snowshoes so I'd have a second pair for the girlfriend or whoever else wanted to join but didn't have a pair of their own.
I snowshoe on the days when nobody else wants to be out in Vermont. I abuse my gear in sub-zero conditions, chest high powder, and on rocky mountain tops.
I have the 22" size, it may be the only one they make th
