I wanted to like this rope, but calling this a bicolor rope is misleading. It is a bi-pattern, and subtle at that. Telling the difference between the two halves requires attention to detail that a bicolor is designed to avoid. There is a small difference which is a helical black line on one half that the other is missing. If you are feeding this through rappel anchors it would be easy to miss the change. i returned it as soon as I unwrapped it. My wife was unable to identify the difference at the middle.
I really wanted to like this device. I even bought two of them. I purchased this because it is an active locking device and because it allows for two ropes and you can rappel with it. It is both of those things but the belay performance is dismal. It wants to catch as you are paying out slack for clips and wants to catch as you are lowering your partner. So, although it does an adequate job of being an active belay device and also allowing you to rappel it is just not worth it.
