The stove is excellent, burns hot to start to bring water to the boils, then goes low which is excellent for a long simmer
Will also burn 70% rubbing ethanol
BUT
The lid sticks of the inner container, so it is very difficult to get off, and the container will become dented and scratched
Shame.....

Bought this stove to have another cooking option when out on the trails. Its always nice to have an option. Read the reviews which for the most part were good, so I figured I'd give it a try.
After having used it several times I found it to be a good stove. It did what it was intended to do, cook food and boil water. Slowly, but it did so. I really have no complaints.
It is easy to set up and easy

So far I have used this stove for only 1 above-freezing overnight backpack, but it performed better than I expected, especially once I read the instructions carefully and started correctly using the outer and inner burner with cover to slow the burn. It is amazingly lightweight and simple to set up, and a "tankful" burns for longer than I expected. It boils a little pot of water faster than I expe

Just returned from three days paddling my 14 foot canoe up in the Okefenokee swamp. Brought my new Etowah II alcohol stove to try out. I was very pleased with the performance. I used the stove for boiling water for breakfast, dinner, and coffee. The wind came up each afternoon and the stove, with the supplied wind screen, worked very well. One ounce of alcohol was adequate to boil water for e

I have been using the same Etowah stove since 2002. It is pretty rusty but it works just like the first day. It has never let me down. If I had one suggestion it would be for the manufacturer to make the stove out of some rust free material. That's it. As far as I'm concerned the Etowah is the best alcohol stove ever made.

I purchased this as it was compact and sturdy which I was looking for. I'll be using it on hiking trips. Is small enough that you can put inside your pot.
