My son had this water filter on our last backpacking trip and it was amazing. It pumped easily and the water flow was just as good as my bigger, heavier pump. I loved that you could clean the outer filter off prolonging the inner filter's lifespan, it was so lightweight and compact. I came home from our trip and ordered one for me. I also love all the different attachment options you have. Works with different water bottles. A great product.

This filter has the right balance for the capacity to filter water and weight. Excellen product if you are 1-3 people backpacking together. Easy to use and works well. Definitely recommended for people who are looking for a quality product.

Nice, easy to use filter. Fills a 16 ounce glass with about 25 strokes. Flow speed is important when a Grizzly is looking over your shoulde! Packs small, lightweight, good carry pouch. Multiple container filling options are great. Appears well constructed. Effortless pump operation. A filter is a crucial piece of gear. This one should last for years. Easy to clean, and easy to replace filter. Very satisfied with this product.
Best Used for:
- All outdoor adventures. Civil emergencies.

Katadyn is a benchmark for water filters. It is a little bit heavier than sawyer's filters but the hiker pro is ideal for shorter hikes or longer camps. Be sure this filter will last for a long time and maintenance is as easy as it gets.
Cons:
- A bit on the heavier side

I had been looking for a water filter for a while. This one was on sale and I snatched it up quick. I like the pump rather than the gravity filter as when I am hiking, I am on the go and don't have a lot of time to fiddle with waiting for the water from the gravity filter. I have used pump filters in the past and have always found them to be reliable as long as you don't suck up muddy mucky water and clog it.

Many of the effective alternatives require that you squeeze the source container or wait for gravity to do it's thing. The pump on this unit makes a big difference in time savings and let's you get on with your day. This us THE way to go!

This is a light and easy to use filter. Classic pump style that is easy to figure out and use in the field. It comes with accessories that allow you to connect directly to standard bladder hydration packs, Nalgene water bottles and just a plain hose. Also with minimal effort I could keep a continuous flow, I was not disappointed with speed while backpacking with the family. Perhaps if I was running from a bear and had to go go go I would care but this puppy is GREAT!

Just got the Katadyn Hiker Pro and was smaller than expected. Reading a review prior to purchase thought it would be larger and heavier. Looks like it has all the attachments and everything fits into a bag to keep everything together. Excited as it looks like a great replacement for my old, old MSR.

Fast delivery and best pricing. This filter is is brilliant and lasts a long time. However, the filter replacement is expensive. Would definitely suggest forwarding camping, backpacking and hiking. Used on several mountaineering trips as well as long backpacking adventures with severable people's using.
Pros:
- Filters lasts years with moderate use
Cons:
- Filter replacement issues expensive

Went on my first 3-day back packing trip. Did a lot of research and found Katadyn Hiker Pro was the best bang for the buck. It worked well without any issues. Make sure to follow the instruction and clean it after every use. I was porting about 2 liter per stop and it worked like a charm. The water tasted clean and I did not get sick! I highly recommend this product for it's value and ease of use.
