I've spent some time in many different tents over the years but this is the first tent I own. I've pitched it few times just to get familiar with it and make a choice will should I keep it or return, and go for Tarptent StratoSpire2. After playing around with it I've decided to keep it as TT is going to cost me around 100$ more to import to Europe and with Marmot Amp 3p I get warranty and everything. Also I'm a bit concerned about tarptents footprint and multiple stake points when using in alpine terrain.
Setup :
It took me around 3-4 min to pitch Marmot Amp 3p the first time with no instructions or anything. It is super simple and very intuitive. I'm sure that after few times it will take me no longer than a minute or two.
You will need at least 6 stakes to keep it up as it is not free standing design.
