I deliberated for a long while before purchasing the Marmot Chelsea coat. I had been searching for a coat that was both warm and waterproof for an upcoming trip to Atlantic Canada during the rainy season. This coat was offered as a factory demo - whatever that means, I’m I still not sure - at a low, low price…and it was labeled “not returnable”. I was afraid I might end up with coat that would not fit or would not work for my intended use, but the “new” version of this coat and other top brand waterproof coats were not in my budget. After reading every review across multiple online vendor sites to make the best guess about sizing and fit, I decided to take the risk and purchase the coat from CampSaver as I knew from prior experience they offer great products and service at excellent prices. That said, I was still delighted and relieved when the coat arrived within a few days in perfect “new” condition. The slate blue gray color is lovely and, as with other Marmot clothing I own, the quality is outstanding. The fit is exactly as other reviewers suggested it would be. I have a pear-shaped body (175 lbs) and usually wear a size 10-12 (medium-large) top and 12-14 (large) bottoms depending on brands. I thought I might need an X-large, according to some reviews, to allow comfortable wear over layers. So Flattering. I chose the black. Simple, tailored design that is warm and very attractive. Like many of the reviews, I was looking for a coat that was warm without the 'puffer' look.
Marmot has been my favorite over the years for great looks and quality workmanship. Perfect for Vermont winters. The hood is a bit generous and it is removable. Campsaver prices
could not be beat!

I bought this coat specifically for a trip to Europe at Christmas. I was planning to 'test run' it during our Australian winter, but I doubt that will happen now. I expect to be house bound, as it will be Australia's peak period for battling the fight against COVID-19. Our Government has told us we need to batten down the hatches for at least 6 months, to help slow the spread. My heat breaks for the world, and the devastating effects this virus is having on so many innocent lives.
On a more positive note – the Marmot Chelsea coat. I love this coat! I was after something more stylish than a 'puffer style' jacket (so I could wear it both day and night – dress it down during the day, and team it with smarter shoes and accessories at night). This coat certainly delivers in that regard. Whilst I've not tested it out in the elements, it seems super toasty warm. I love how light weight it is – so you don't feel like the Michelin woman. I must say, when I unpacked the coat, I was so taken aback with how light it was that I weighed it to make sure it weighed as per the specifications on Marmot's website. It was smack on! I was momentarily worried I'd received a summer version (even though one doesn't exist). The benefits of toasty warm goose down – you get warmth without weight! My wife loved the jacket. Warm, not wet. The size is matched. One drawback. For The size of The M, it's narrow in the chest. And the bottom of the jacket is wide.
And in general, a very good jacket. Very warm. And if after a stay in the cold go into the room, thanks to the membrane it is not hot.
As in almost every down jacket a little climbs down.

Marmot Chelsea coat was purchased for my wife. She loves the color and length as well as the fast shipping from Campsaver. She received the coat just in time for a Midwest blizzard. We had 12 inches of snow and brutal wind, she was warm and dry in her new coat. Kudos to Marmot and Campsaver for high quality products at reasonable prices.

The coat fits perfectly. The sizing information given is spot on. I'm 5'5" and the length goes to just about the top of my knee, perfect for keeping warm in winter without it being too cumbersome. The coat is very warm without being bulky. Overall, quality purchase!

I was very pleased with my coat. Very good fit. Although a little longer to receive the parcel than I thought it would be by express post, the end result is worth the wait. Tracking info was very informative.

I am a big Marmot fan and continue to be so. My other two winter coats are Marmot. This one I really like but I agree with the hood issue. It works well but it is a bit short and tugs downward. I do not have a big head nor a long neck so unlike other issues it is not me. The medium fits well - I am 5'6'' . It does make a bit of noise when inside I hear it but not outside which is wear this coat is meant to be. I either have the Montreal or Montreaux coat which is not waterproof and it is warmer - but the Chelsea works well and is not so hot that I can't wear it in a milder situation here in California winter.

The coat was more substantial that I was expecting (a good thing). The medium fit true to size, though it's not a winter coat that maintains one's feminine shape. That said, you certainly don't look like the micheline man, either. Aesthetics aside, I am entirely satisfied.

I love this coat. The quality is fantastic, and it is so warm and comfortable. It was an investment for me, and well worth it!
