Marmot Minimalist jacket is works very well in the rain, GoreTex membrane works! It has not disappointed me in wet conditions. I am using ерші model for about 3 years, from cycling to hiking to everyday stuff.

I bought this jacket for a trip to Bergen in February 2018. I wanted something that would blend in an urban environment (I chose the color black) but that would also keep me dry on the trail.
This jacket fit the bill to a T. No frills, lightweight, weather resistant. I chose a size large so that I could layer underneath it.
My jacket is now four years old and looks brand new, and I find myself reaching for it each year during the rainy season, especially when I need weather protection but want to keep things minimalist.
Great jacket.

Simple, lightweight, packable jacket. Have a good price, especially on clearance. Pockets covered from rain, was unable to find all of them at first. The jacket does not leak. So wonderful, now I'm using it all the time if rain has a chance to start.

Very well made and well thought out construction. It’s thicker and stronger than jackets like the precip which is why I chose this one.Nice lightweight jacket, this is my 3rd one! One for work, one to keep in car and one for golf. Rain does not leak into this jacket! Great price for gore tex.

Goretex paclite packable lightweight jacket. Does what it is supposed to do and doesn’t cost the earth. It has the added benefit of pit zips. Although it doesn’t have the bomb proof feel of Goretex pro and Is obviously not as durable, it netherless kept the rain out with no seepage around pack straps.

First, this color is awesome, nice clean look and the jacket looks good on as well.
I'm a 6'3" tall guy who tips the scale at 260 which means that, I'm always concerned about how something is going to fit and if it's going to be too hot for me to wear while I'm being active. This jacket seems to have found the sweet spot. It blocks wind and rain but breathes well enough (with pit zips) to have the layers underneath control the temperature that I'm at and none of that, frantic sweaty feeling where you feel like you're trapped inside a rapidly heating plastic bag.
I bought XXL and it fits well. Sleeves come down a bit past my wrist and falls below my belt line front and back. The front pocket is roomy enough that carrying a cell phone in it doesn't feel awkward and roomy enough to layer underneath it. No loop inside the jacket for hook hanging, but the hood seems to work well enough for that to me.

A suitable product that has good water resistance, keeps the interior dry, and is free from strong wind and rain from the external environment. This is a very good quality jacket. I recommend it to my family or friends.

Marmot minimalist is always a great series. The jacket is using Gore-Tex paclite technology which is wind and water proof and light weight. The price of the jacket is quite friendly compare to arcteryx or mammut while it still provide great quality.

The jacket has a very nice feel to it. I'm very happy with the velcro closure over the two zip hand pockets. It has a nice size chest zip pocket for my cell phone. Adjustable hood is a plus. Pit zips are a must, so glad it has those. The only thing I miss as compared to my old (no longer waterproof) jacket is that there is no inner chest pocket and it's not quite as long as a parka. The front zipper only goes in one direction. I just got it so I haven't had a chance to test it in the rain but the Gortex should hold up to the rain.
Pros:
- good quality, nice fit. Good zippers.
Cons:
- Doesn't cover my butt, no inner chest pocket, no 2 way front zipper.
