Most Helpful Positive Review Very warm coat but small
It is too tight in the shoulders. Be forewarned, this coat runs very small, especially in the chest. This coat was made for someone with a very small bust. I ordered a size "L" and I normally wear a "M". It's so very warm coat.
Most Helpful Negative Review This coat does not run small!!
Having read all the reviews this coat sounded great so I bought it in a Medium, I'm 5'3 120lbs and it swamped me. It was so large the hood covered my whole face, even when I adjusted the ties. It really looked like a massive sleeping bag. I felt it was more like a large as everything about the coat ...

Amazing color, amazing coat!

by Laura, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on April 25, 2022
I love this coat. The color is really great- it's dark, but still light enough that you can clearly see it's blue and not black. Because who wants a boring black coat, right? This is the third time i'm getting this coat (on my third color too). It's the perfect length and it's so warm. My only complaint is that the feathers come out pretty regularly. It's not a deal breaker for me because it's not so often that it's a deterrent. And despite this, the coat is still the warmest I've ever owned.
Pros:
  • Warmth, color, comfort, hood
Cons:
  • Feathers fall out
Best Used for:
  • Cold winters

LOVE this coat!!!

by Staying warm in Michigan, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on December 10, 2021
I hate shopping online for clothes. I am just over 5’ 6” and weight 140 lbs. I have long arms and legs and a short torso, and finding sleeves that are long enough is difficult. I ordered a size up as years ago I ordered some Marmot hiking pants in my normal size, and remembered they were quite small. I am normally a medium but the large I ordered fits beautifully, the sleeves are just barely long enough, but long enough nonetheless! I haven’t worn it yet with anything super fluffy underneath, but the coat is warm and flattering the materials are oh so soft. I am thrilled with this purchase.

GREAT COAT but not the one for me

by SnowLover, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on December 2, 2021
Me- 5'3.5", full C+ bust, 115 lbs, not very muscular at the moment.
XS fit perfectly. I can see what others have mentioned about the bust. I was able to put it on over a hoodie, but I can see how others might prefer a little extra room up top. Small would have likely been fine but not as form-fitted on me.
This is more 4.5 stars. I would have kept the coat if I did not already have an arsenal of winter coats. I was looking for a winter dog-walking bomb-proof coat, and I think my old MH ski coat beats this. That was the sole purpose for me.
If I actually went out in the winter (where people would see me), then this coat would be perfect. It is nice and a flattering fit. I love the hood, and it appears quite warm.
I want to address the supposed zipper issues, as I first thought NO WAY when I tried it. The zipper is fine. You just need to understand how to work it. I messed with it and finally understood after about 10 attempts.
Listen/feel for the zipper to click in, then use the very BOTTOM zipper to initiate the zip. You can then use the top one, and it works perfectly. I was never able to get it to zip up without this process.
The soft liner is very comfy, I love the length (just below my knees).

Cons-it didn't seem to be as warm my Goretex 850 fill MH ski coat, so I will continue to use that as my dog-waling coat. One thing was that I could feel cool air creeping in from the bottom (of course, as it doesn't have a powder skirt. Not intended for skiing :...

Really nice jacket overall but has two flaws

by Sarah, from VA, United States Written on December 15, 2020
I bought this jacket on sale in the crocodile color and I'm planning on keeping it because I got it at such a great discount. I took it out today in 30-something degree weather and it kept me very warm with only a long sleeve and leggings underneath. It's semi-fitted and reaches down to my knees, which is a great length since you can adjust the bottom zipper if you need more room for your legs. You can really feel the quality when you run your hands over the outside and also the inside microfiber fleece. It's also very lightweight despite being so warm. I haven't tested the waterproof capabilities yet.

However, there are two big flaws that would make this jacket a perfect 10/10 if they were fixed. First, the zipper is super hard to use and it's a bit of a learning curve. For such an expensive jacket ($300 without discount), you'd think that Marmot would use higher quality zippers that zipped more smoothly. This might be a problem if you're outside in cold weather trying to zip up your jacket with freezing hands. Secondly, as other commenters have said, this jacket runs small - which works for me because I'm on the smaller side (5'4 100 lbs), but it's kind of tight when I wear thicker jackets. However, the main problem I see, at least with the size XS, is that the hood is tiny. I have a very small head and a slightly longer than average neck. If they added 1 inch to the height of the hood, it would fit my head better and give the top of my head a little more room.

Other than...

Marmot Montreuax Coat

by Dean D., Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on March 11, 2020
Bought this for my wife in a 2XL. Wife is 5'6", claims she wears an 18, which according to the Marmot chart should work. It was just a little too small for her to zip up. Fabric doesn't stretch. Having said that, the sizing thing is so individual (everyone is shaped differently). Wife likes the coat at the sale price and we will hang on to it for an emergency car coat for now and hopefully she fits into it next fall. Nice long warm down coat. The main zipper is trouble. Make sure the bottom tab goes in all the way before it will zip, and it's hard to get it in right. You need to baby it. It's a cheap small tooth plastic zipper, and when you start to zip it, it's way down there on this long coat. Once the zip started it worked OK. Wife thought the hood was good. If it's on sale its worth it. Otherwise, probably not,
Pros:
  • Warm long
Cons:
  • Zipper
Best Used for:
  • Winter

This coat is really warm, which is why I bought it. Turns out it’s also pretty lightweight and very comfortable. And it doesn’t look bulky. Great purchase and very happy w/ the price and speedy delivery by Campsaver.

Great product- difficult sizing

by cmd-ak, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on March 6, 2019
I had previously purchased this jacket in a size small. Although the jacket fit well elsewhere, it was quite tight in the chest area. I ordered this jacket in purple in a size medium. While the fit was good, I am only 5'2", and it hit just below my knees. I felt like that would bother me in general, and feared it would get dirty a lot with splash up from melting snow, etc., and opted to return it. I plan to try the Montreal, which is essentially identical aside from length of the jacket. I love the construction-- the down feels very warm. The monkey fur lining would be extremely comfortable on the skin. Inner breast pockets on either side to tuck away gloves, hats, wallets, etc. when hanging up. I loved both the purple-y and midnight blue colors I sampled. Highly recommend, just be aware for short people this jacket is a little on the long side.... and you may have to size up unless you have a narrow chest (I wear a 34 B or C).
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • warm
Cons:
  • Sizing

Warm and Toasty!!

by Ed, from CA, United States Written on February 17, 2019
Bought this coat as a gift for my wife for Valentine's Day,
The coat fits her perfectly, is very well made, has all the right features, and keeps her very warm and cozy here in the "frigid" Southern California climate!
All kidding aside, when in the snow and cold in our local mountains, this coat really performs as advertised!
I'm glad I found Camp Saver, and this coat. The right coat at the right price, and quick delivery!
Pros:
  • a lot!!!!
Cons:
  • NONE

Excellent Coat

by Amanda Riskosky, from PA, United States Written on February 13, 2019
This is a great coat. I ordered a L, and I am 5,9" about 135, and it fits great. I wanted a little extra space to layer underneath. It is very warm, and length goes below the knee. Shipping was fast and price was great from this site.

Great Coat

by M, from KY, United States Written on February 12, 2019
This is a great coat at a great price. It is warm, zips from top and bottom, and the hood covers well without being oversized. Only potential issue is that it fits quite snugly through the chest/torso.
