Reviews & Ratings for Mountain Equipment Aerostat Down 7.0 Sleeping Mat
— 4 reviews — Page 1
The Aerostat Pad is very comfortable. I have slept on fairly uneven ground multiple times now and this is by far the most comfortable mat I have ever used. The ease of blowing up the pad is amazingly simple, the stuff sack essentially turns into an air pump! There seems to be no cold spots in the p...

The first time backpacking with this mat and it failed me. It got two holes in it, one on the bottom and one on the top. My favorite part about this pad is that you use the stuff sack to inflate the pad. Genius! When sleeping in the snow and cold. Inflating pads by using your mouth blows moisture into the pad. Which in the cold does nothing but make you sleep colder. It's also very comfortable and you for sure don't feel the ground below you!
Pros:
None
Cons:
Not the lightest but on par with competition.
Would recommend: Yes

I waited four weeks for this to arrive from England! This is a super warm and well built pad!! The Windsock took a bit (okay, two minutes) to get the hang of it, but works well to inflate with about 3-4 repeats. Not a lightweight pad, but if you are a COLD sleeper like me, or do winter backpacking, it is so worth packing! Fabric appears very durable and is a quiet pad!! No Thermarest crinkle noise here!! Highly recommend!!
Pros:
quiet
Super warm
Easy to deflate
Cons:
A little on the heavy side for UltraLightweight backpacking
Best Used for:
Winter or shoulder season backpacking
Would recommend: Yes
