Most Helpful Positive Review wonderful fit, very well constructed
I was stunned by the new alpine fit Mountain Equipment has developed. Moves well and no hindrance in any way. Relatively light for a, go-anywhere and do-anything jacket. My Ex. Lg is 19 oz. I am a difficult fit, always between sizes, Lg or Ex.Lg. but no matter which one I use the Lhotse Jkt works for me. Because the jacket fits so well, it feels lighter than it is. Very pleases with product and Ca

Feature-Rich Hardshell

by Mark, from VA, United States Written on October 8, 2020
The Lhotse is a feature-rich hardshell jacket, putting Gore-Tex Pro waterproofing and breathability on full display. Work hard, and this jacket excels. In fact, the harder I work, the worse the conditions, the better this jacket performs. Mountain Equipment seemed to think of every imaginable need in the design. 3-Layers throughout, with denier distribution for protection where it is needed. Designed as a shell for mountaineering, I find it incredibly useful on longer trail hikes where it protects you from everything the weather can dish out. Used it in a 4-hour cold downpour, and upper body stayed completely dry. As a hard shell most jackets struggle on the articulation in the jacket at key points. Not this jacket. Raise you arms overhead, you can without restriction. Arm sleeves don’t ride up. Velcro lets you adjust at the wrist, to your needs, gloves or not. And I don’t have to worry about the pack straps damaging the fabric on the the shoulder area. It is 80 denier there, and just about indestructible. If you are a bigger map friend, the outer chest pocket lets you stow a big map for easy access. The side pockets ride high intentionally, so you don’t lose use while wearing a hip belt. Self-regulate your temperature with the pit zips, and main body zipper, which are all two-way zippers. All zips are YKK throughout, that when zipped, are housed in fabric, so water rolls off, not in. Know how your body reacts to exertion level, and this jacket has the options to ‘button up’ ...

All round perfect!

by Lynn, from MT, United States Written on May 31, 2018
Finally replaced an old GoreTex from another brand after 10 years! I had gotten recommendation to give the Mountain Equipment a try. Great jacket, simple, versatile, and very well constructed. I really appreciated the use of the heavier fabric in the high wear areas and the lighter fabric elsewhere. The hood works perfect over my ice climbing helmet or my bike helmet when I'm commuting in the rain. It is weatherproof, waterproof, and super durable. Love it!

Beautiful jacket, sadly doesn't quite cover a ski helmet

by Ted, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on November 18, 2017
Wonderfully constructed and tailored jacket - attention to detail and fit exceed most other top-of-the-line shells. I am 5'11 165 and the medium fits perfectly - not too baggy, not too tight, totally free range of motion. Unfortunately I was looking specifically for an unpleasant/wet weather ski jacket and the hood is not quite large enough to fit over a ski helmet while the collar is zipped closed.
I sadly had to return this jacket, i am looking out for another me jacket with their larger super alpine hood.
