I've used this jacket probably over 100 days the last few years, mostly in the spring - fall timeframe as my insulating layer. With a light fleece underneath, I've stayed warm down into the teens. It does great even with moisture. I've noticed the elbows have an issue where the down migrates away from the elbows, leaving a cold spot.

I am very happy with this purchase and it is by far the lightest jacket I have with exceptional warmth. I am 5' 10" and 165 lbs and the medium fits well with some room under for layering.

This jacket has very uniformly distributed down and fits well with a comfortable and adjustable hood. Without a helmet the hood definitely needs to be adjustable, and it is. It's very warm when it's 20 degrees above zero and is so compressible that it can be worn comfortably while driving with a seatbelt. The heat can be turned down in the vehicle while wearing this excellent jacket. The zipper actually is easy to use and it doesn't get hung up in the fabric...can't say that with zippers in many other jackets/shells. I really love this midlayer/outer layer!

Be careful about size. It works for me because I need layers.

This jacket is amazing. The fit is perfect - I bought a large, and I'm 6'2", 190 lbs. I've had about 5 feathers work their way out in the 2 weeks that I've owned it. Not sure if that's OK, hence the 4 stars.

I used my Ghost Whisperer Hood Down Jacket on the trail this weekend. You can appreciate the warmth of this jacket almost immediately when you put it on. We experienced temps down into the 30’s and 40’s with sustained winds between 30-40 mph at about 2100’ elevation. I paired the Ghost Whisperer with a hardshell jacket cover and stayed considerably warm. I slept in a hammock with a down sleeping bag and kept my Ghost Whisperer jacket on as well. Wind gusts were measured between 50-60 mph and I stayed toasty warm through the night. I was very glad that I bought the hooded version. I also hiked the next day through the storm wearing the jacket under my shell which probably was not the best idea since moisture decreases the insulation value of down and I was sweating while moving. I would get a little chill when I stopped moving after several minutes but that was a misuse problem that I won’t repeat coupled with wet hands, legs, and feet. My scale has the jacket at 8.4 oz and I bought a waterproof stuff sack that compresses it down to about 5”x6”. Overall the jacket performed very well and I would highly recommend it.
