I have used this on a couple of long hikes of several hours with light rain and sleet. I stayed dry. I normally wear a size medium in tops but got the size large. It is plenty roomy for me to wear a heavy fleece or light puffy underneath for warmth. Seems to be a durable jacket. I like the fit and look of it on me.
Pros:
- Fit
- functional
- Sheds water, comfortable, looks great WINDPROOF
Best Used for:
- hiking in cold,wet weather

I took this rain jacket to my trip to Iguazu Falls and for my expedition trip to Antarctica. During the trip to Iguazu Falls, it protected me from not only all the mist from the water falls but also from the rain fall. For my Antarctica trip in late November 2018, I used this jacket as my waterproof layer and it kept my body warm and my layers under the jacket completely dry. I took the chance of not purchasing a parka jacket for this trip since they are quite expensive and just wore 5 layers on top instead (wool baselayer, fleece jacket, down jacket, soft shell jacket, rain jacket) to mimic a parka jacket. The layering system worked great! The weather in Antarctica was around 28 degrees F and this jacket was excellent in blocking out the fierce snowy winds. Another benefit is that this jacket is super lightweight, breathable and can be packed small so that it won't take up lots of space in your luggage. It's as lightweight as a wind breaker jacket as well. I highly recommend the Plasmic Ion Jacket for a waterproof/windproof jacket. I'm 5'1" and 120lbs and the size Small fits well in addition to providing enough room for the layers worn underneath.
Pros:
- dries quickly
- keeps you dry
- Lightweight and packs small
- Waterproof, windproof, light, ability to layer, well made
- keeps you warm
Best Used for:
- waterproofing
- Hiking & casual wear
- windproof

I bought this jacket because it didn't look like all the other raincoats out there. This one has pizazzzz. It's very lightweight, runs true to size, has tab closures on the sleeves, and looks great. I'm happy!

This jacket fits great (I'm 5'9" and 130 lbs and bought a small), the color is vibrant (Teal) and it keeps your dry so well! Doesn't offer much for warmth so plan on layers, but it's great!

Cute pattern and cut. Fits well. May not breathe as well as jackets quadruple it's price, but seems just as waterproof. (Initial impression after 1 week. Not hiked in it yet, but wife reaches for it for around town summer rain jacket so far instead of the bulletproof Arcteryx Gore-Tex pro 3L.

My wife (size 6) loves this jacket. I purchased the medium for her - a little big - but the perfect size for layers. Great performance and ventilation.

I love Mountain Hardware, they make great products that I feel shatter their competition, that being said I can't always afford their products. So when my Mom said she wanted a lightweight, packable waterproof jacket for Christmas I immediately started searching for Mountain Hardware products and kids products. She is an x-small like me so I know that their sizing works well for us. Most companies size x-small far too big or they just don't offer an x-small (come on MontBelle, time to include tiny people!). Well after finding many jackets that were well over $100 I stumbled upon Campsaver and they had a sale on this Plasmic Ion Jacket for about $50! And they had one left in X-small! And in a pretty color! That never happens, it must have been meant to be. So I ordered her the x-small in color Foxglove. I didn't see an option for gift receipt when checking out but upon speaking with a rep at Campsaver through the online chat box they were nice enough to accommodate me by not including a receipt in the box. And she loves the jacket and wore it immediately. She says it fits perfect, and she is about 4'11" now and at the point of being a 00 in size, so yeah she is super tiny. Another win for Mountain Hardware!

I purchased a Mountain Hardware plasmic ion jacket just last week and was happy that it arrived in time for my weekend hike in the rain. I normally wear a medium, but chose to buy a large so that I could theoretically wear a sweater under it if needed. That was a good choice. The jacket is slightly fitted, so the extra room will be great for layering. The jacket performed very well in the rain - I stayed completely dry. The seamstress who made this jacket apparently had a bad day. The hood has a cord running through it so that it can be cinched down depending on conditions. The cord locks were sewn into the channel and are inaccessible. Thankfully, I have a sewing machine and will be able to modify it so that I can use the cord locks. Otherwise, it seems to be a well-made jacket and I look forward to many years of use.
