Beautiful design, but heavy
I truly love this tent. Really, I do. I love the pole design, the way the doors zip open and secure. The vestibules are nice and big. There are big inside pockets for holding all kinds of stuff, and the head room inside the tent is beyond adequate. Also, the inclusion of the footprint is a big plus....

It's a very nice tent.
It's a very good tent. I've already used it in many places. I recommend it, and the price is good.

New favorite tent
Great design, bomb-proof construction. Perfect for one person with a Megamat and the need for some room to feel comfortable.
It's attractive sibling Hubba Hubba may get all the attention, but for a little more weight you get a much better 3+ season tent with this, and a much better deal.

No complaints
Used it about 10 times now from winter camping at 12,000ft to windy days in the high desert. Overall it’s the best tent I’ve used. Although it’s roughly 4-5lbs I have no complaints with the extra weight compared to an ultra light tent.

Great, but be warned
Tent seems very durable and, for a single occupant, very spacious. However, contrary to the photos shown on the item page, the rainfly is NOT predominantly WHITE with red. The tent sent to me came with a rainfly that is GRAY with red.

high quality, stable in the wind, durable, a little bit heavier
The Elixir is made in high quality as MSR's product always. The structure and the strong fabric make it very stable in the wind, protection is quite good. The fabric is thick, there is a footprint included in the package, then this tent will be very durable. like this tent.
Pros:
- high quality, stable in the wind, durable,
Cons:
- a little bit heavier
Best Used for:
- hiking, trekking

Great, but be warned
Tent seems very durable and, for a single occupant, very spacious. However, contrary to the photos shown on the item page, the rainfly is NOT predominantly WHITE with red. The tent sent to me came with a rainfly that is GRAY with red. White is preferable for two reasons: (1) Higher Visibility (at some point in your adventure you may want to be found, e.g.--by a search helicopter); and (2) More importantly, white reflects direct sunlight much better than gray (take it from one who star-gazed most of the night at 8,800 ft. but then was baked alive trying to tent-sleep the following day!)

Excellent for two hunters.
I bought the Elixer 1 last year for a 5-day backpacking trip and was very satisfied, so sought this one out when I needed a two-person. Great sale price at the right time on Moosejaw! Easy and quick to set up & pack up, roomy enough for two average-size people with plenty of room for packs in the vestibules (which kept them perfectly dry in the rain). Be sure to use the vents to avoid condensation - the supports that hold them open aren't obvious at first.

Great product even better buying experience
I knew what I wanted in a 3 season tent and the MSR Elixir 2 absolutely delivered that. My first time buying from Campsaver.com so didn't know what to expect but couldn't have been happier. Price was great, email confirmation and updates on shipping were consistent. The product actually arrived a couple days quicker than expected. Consumer for life.

Decent depending on usage
Let me start by saying I’ve hiked a lot on the AT an other random places, this is not a light weight or consolidated offering for “backpacking”. If that’s what ur looking for ur in for a huge letdown. First, setup time takes more than average (ur friends will be done with their tents before you for sure) - flip side of that is stability. This tent has seen very high winds and hard sideways rain with zero issues. Take the time to stake it in you won’t be disappointed.
