I bought my daughter a discontinued version of this chair years ago and each time we go camping she *rudely* ;) kicks me out of it. So I decided to get my own, and folks it is better than hers so now I’ll be kicking her out of my superior Nemo camp chair.

The chair works so much better than the cheaper knockoffs found at the big box places. I am 5’10” and 220lbs and this chair fits and supports me well. I really like how they incorporated lower back support into the chair, which is sorely missing in the knockoffs. The fabric folds over as you recline and gives really nice support the lower back. The recline function works flawlessly and requires no effort by the user to engage it. The head pillow is plenty big enough to be comfortable and the ability to move it helps dial in the comfort. Set up and break down are easy if you are familiar with the schlock cord designs and only needs a little practice to get it down if you are not.
The only improvement would be to add an integrated footrest or sell a matching ottoman. I would love to see how NEMO would design it. Until then I will have to use the one I ordered from another online retailer.

I tried one of the while camping with my family. It’s comfortable first and foremost. Also awesome is how light and portable it is - just toss it in and you’re good to go. Your friends will be fighting to use it!
Best Used for:
- Everywhere casual, hiking, walking distances, beach

Upon arrival, setup was easy and the chair is very stable unlike the competition. The chair swings and reclines as advertised. It also packs small (8”x8”x24”). The wider feet also set up perfectly for various surfaces.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON this chair should cost more than $40! In fact, Sam's club and Costco sell the EXACT SAME CHAIR for $40. Member's Mark Swing Chair Lounger and Rio Swing Hammock chair. Save your money, and wait till next summer before you shell out a ridiculous amount of money for this chair.

I have 22 years of backpacking experience. I weigh 240lbs! Sitting comfortably after a long day of hiking in the sun can be a challenge. First, I used a pad, Then came the tripod chairs made out of wood and later metal. I am one of the first persons in my large packing group of guys to purchase the ever-popular collapsible chair with a fabric backing around 10 years ago that has revolutionized the sitting comfort of many hikers. HOWEVER! The Deluxe Stargazer is the Cadillac of all chairs. I just got back from the Sierras and took this 6lb. chair a few miles with me and have no regrets! Yes, it is big, and it is heavy. I am not a go lite backpacker. I am a go comfortable hiker. This chair is like having a mini hammock and chair put together. I have read some reviews that say it needs a footrest. While this would be nice, I don't see it happening due to the actual design. Tie some paracord around a branch and put your feet on it! No big deal! I can lean back and forth using the chair's strap system with ease!
The quality of the material and the beefiness of the frame make it easy for a big guy like me to relax! The smaller collapsable chairs you still have to be careful, especially during happy hour. You will be the belle of the ball for bringing the Nemo Stargazer to the dance. Everyone will want to get one! If you are a smaller person, I suggest getting the less expensive smaller model. If you backpack using mules, no problem bringing the extra weight...

We love this chair! It's super comfortable and packs into a small carrying case! The fabric is strong but thin and breathes well! Easy to use for stargazing and as a rocking chair. Highly recommend!

I have lower back pain which frequently causes me to sleep in my recliner at home. Very few hotels/motels have refiners available. I purchased my Stargazer as a travel recliner for our frequent cross country trips. It has far exceeded my expectations. It is light weight, assembles or disassembles in less than two minutes, and most importantly to me, it is comfortable enough for me to get a good nights sleep when we travel. It took a little getting used to in getting in and out of, but I manage quite easily now. Although there is no foot rest, I just rest my legs on a bed or chair. It is so easy to adjust my reclining position from full upright to all the way reclined. The swinging/rocking feature is also greatly appreaceated. Although I haven’t gazed at any stars in my stargazer, I highly recommend it for anyone wanting the consistent comfort of there own easily transportable recliner. Great quality of materials and construction also.
Pros:
- Comfort and ease of assembly

The chair is great bought it for summer camping on the motorcycle and needed a chair that would fold up small enough to put in the saddle bag. This is great super small and super comfortable a little expensive but worth it for my needs
