Great item for everyday or emergency use
I originally bought one of these bags for a motorcycle trip to the arctic ocean. I chose the tanker because they are made of tuff materials, fold flat, and have a large water proof zip lock style opening for easy filling and adding ice. They are also designed with rugged nylon carry straps and the bags stand on their own once filled with water. I used the bag daily for over a month and never got

Decent carrier for short carries
Bought this to replace my previous Platypus 6Liter carrier that lasted well over ten years (it was the tall version). This version has improved stability and a slightly improved closure. Printed on the bag is the instruction "press to close, invert to test" . Worst advice ever. Especially in a canoe. However it is stable enough to set on the ground and have the water remain in the tank (the previous version required hanging or it would collapse and empty. The closure strip does not work. It will close, but it will open with the slightest disruption. Also picking up a full container causes the closure to open IN ABSOLUTELY EVERY CASE. It's more bucket than tank. But its a good bucket. Fills fast and easy. Very durable. Don't invert it. Ever. Take my word for it.

Platy water tank
I paddle desert rivers and this is perfect for using as ice bag in cooler so I can Preserve the melt water for drinking Platys are always tough as nails Have had there soft bottles in a drag bag the entire length of the Grand Canyon and held up fine

I love my new watertank! Holds plenty of liquid cosmetics and hair products totally preventing spillage into my suitcase during air travel.Highly recommend!!

Invaluable
Invaluable add for any backpacking trip, especially groups of two or more people where pumping/filtering water is required. Very little weight added to a backpack but saves making several trips to a stream/lake to refill smaller containers every time someone fires up a jet boil or needs to refill their Nalgene bottle.

A little difficult to get a good seal
Ideal container for water storage when backpacking.
Went with the largest size, because it didn't effect pack weight and I thought it would be nice to have extra water capacity even if not used.
The zipper seal on the top offered some difficulty.
Used this on a two night trip - Seal leaked a little and released once.
If it happened far from the water source I would've been more frustrated.

What a great design...Heavy duty "zip-lock" type opening that stays sealed upsidedown. The handles are comfortable and durable. A+

Self standing
I have used this a few times now and i love it.
The top can be a little hard to close when filling from an icy creek with bare hands, due to cold fingers, but once shut the are no spills.
Stands itself upright, no leaks, no plastic taste, simple, i love it.
