I wore it around the house for few minutes, and took it straight to Mt. Dickerman in the North Cascades (elevation gain of about 4000 feet). My feet felt very comfortable, stable, and secure. Although it was a super hot day, my feet did not get super sweaty. No blisters or major issues at the end of the hike. No break-in was needed.

This boot performs better than any I've had of its type. Great ankle support and overall durability. Good for all 4 seasons and doesn't dissapoint when you put it to the test.

To be fair, I have wide feet with high arches and arthritis starting in one arch. I searched exhaustively for a good quality, wide hiking boot for my trip to New Zealand, and the Kailash GTX was one of the very few I could find. It is an absolutely beautiful, well-made shoe. But sadly, my arthritic foot needed something even wider. I returned this boots and CampSaver gave me fast, full refund. I e

Backcountry hiking in glacier national park, adirondacks & catskills. Needs little breakin. Good arch support.

Boots were a joy to wear from the first time I put them on. Had two 10 mile hikes in the first month I had them. No time to break them in but had zero problems. Fit is perfect and shoe feels great on my feet. I really like the stability they give me on rough trails.

I've been on several 6 - 8 miles, rocky, climbing hikes in the past month, and they have caused no hot spots. They are comfortable and provide good support. I've been breaking them in for a trip to Nepal, but they have not needed "breaking-in". Comfortable from the start.

Received first pair and they were too narrow. Campsaver made the exchange a pleasure taking away all earlier worry of ordering boots on-line. The wider boots were great. Six mile hike right out of the box, barely noticed I wasn't in my old fully broken in boots. Can't comment on durability yet, but the boots and the whole Campsaver experience have exceeded expectations.

I plan on using these babies for future backpacking trips. While these backpacking ventures haven't happened yet, I have worn my Scarpas on a few hikes now. They need breaking in at the beginning, but not extensively. They are initially comfortable and surprisingly light. The toe box is slightly smaller than expected, but if you get the right size that won't be a grave concern.
I love 'em. I'

A great multi-day backpacking boot -- not too heavy and tough enough to handle all terrain in all sorts of weather conditions. Without a doubt the best lug sole I've ever experienced.

These boots rock! I wore them around the house for a couple days before doing The Decalibron (Mt Democrat, Mt Cameron, Mt Lincoln and Mt Bross) which is 13 miles and 3,700 ft gain in 6.5 hours. These boots still felt good after all that! They got a little dusty though. Cant wait to get them out for the next 14er. I usually wear a 10.5 US. Sometimes a 10, but rarely an 11. So based on the rev
