Most Helpful Positive Review Best stove ever
Just got back from the 72 mile High Sierra trail and this stove worked excellant on a lot of different conditions. Not only is it super light but twigs are easy to find even when it rains. I averaged 8-10 minutes to boil a liter of water. This stove even worked well on the top of Mt. Whitney , I just switched to solid fuel pellets and got a boil in about 12 minutes. It helps if you have a pot with

Love this stove

I love this stove. It's lightweight, durable and fun to use if you like playing with fire:) .. You have to give it a lot of attention by constantly feeding the fire bc the flame can go out pretty quick. I have this stove combo'd with the GSI halulite cookset. The stove fits in the pot with just one of the bowls. And inside I also keep a fire starting kit. It works well on windy days it might just take a little extra time to boil water but that's no big deal to me. The only cons I can think of is that you have wet fuel on rainy days, your clothes wont smell good if you have a smoky fire and the fire will turn your pot black. But that's all part of any wood burning stove. I recommend carrying a tinder kit already on you so you always have something dry to catch a spark. Gather a good amount of sticks together before you start your fire so you don't have to run around trying to find fuel to keep your fire going. The thicker the wood the better your fire will burn and the less attention you'll have to give it.

Solo Biofuel Stove

Compact and easy to use. Can also hold as alcohol stove as a secondary system if wood is not readily available. I appreciate having that secondary capability. Burns well provided the sticks are cut down to fit the stove. Start with smaller sticks and move up. The pot will accumulate soot but it is not a problem if you are aware of it. Burns well to boil water and with practice you will be able to gauge how much wood to use to simmer and not burn food. Great stove, works well.
