Just what the Dr. ordered.
I use this pad for additional insulation with my Exped UL7 pad. I also use it for sitting, kneeling and getting dressed in the tent. One night my tent partner weas snorring to beat the band and I was able to whittle some ear plugs out of the material!

Perfectly Okay
Wasn't a luxurious sleeping experience, but it kept me warm. Fine for the price.

Great sleeping pad
Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite is a lightweight, packs easily, and provides him with a little more layer besides the tent bottom and rocks. I also appreciated that it provided more cushion inside the tent for me to walk on!

Warm, Light, and Cheap Sleep Pad
Good quality sleeping pad, warm, lightweight but very very bulky which is annoying. The length is just perfect for me (180 cm.).
Buy knowing that it is a quality insulation mat, but also know that it is not a cushion.

Warm, Light, and Cheap
I love this pad and now have one for every member of the family. Works great to put under a air pad to not gets flats where you put the most weight, under your back. They are really durable. 5 people I know have had them for over 25 years without having to replace them!
Pros:
- Warm, Light, and Cheap
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Tent or Bivy camping

Low price for therm a rest
I bought two pads. A regular full length and a 3/4 length. They were advertised as irregulars but I could not find anything wrong with them. The only difference I could find between the full price ones is in the shorter pad. The full price 3/4 length pads are designed fold into a rectangle. This one does not fold. It has to be rolled. Older model? Great products for the price.
Pros:
- great price, light weight, won't lose air
Cons:
- there are warmer more comfortable pads out there but not at this price
Best Used for:
- Back packing

Light & Bulky
Good pad if you have to bring something, as in no pad at all....I would recommend saving your money for a better pad as in air or accordion style, but this just won't cut the mustard or ground as you will feel it...although it will be a good "ground barrier" and keep the cold ground in cool temps away. This pad is light but the diameter rolled up is rather large (huge) on your pack. Save up for a better pad....
Pros:
- Light
Cons:
- No cushion, huge when rolled up
Best Used for:
- Secondary pad

lightweight, warm, comfortable enough
For the price, you can't beat the weight and warmth of the RidgeRest SOLite. It is the best value in sleeping pads. Some people prefer the accordion style folding of the z-lite, but I prefer to roll my pad and strap it to my pack. If you need more cushioning, it might be kind of hard on your back, etc., and a neoair x-lite might be what you are looking for. However, if you are just looking for something basic to help keep you warm at night and take the edge off sleeping on the ground, this is the ticket.
Pros:
- weight
- insulation
Cons:
- cushion
Best Used for:
- Backpacking
- ulralight backpacking

Why pay more?
Like others, I can't even find a blemish that would make this pad "irregular". These tend to get a little beat up when strapped to packs or jammed into trunks anyway, so why pay more for a "perfect" one that will look the same after a few uses?
A Ridge Rest works great under an inflatable pad for cold-weather camping and sleeping on frozen ground. It's a very minimal pad to be used by itself, but they work great for kids.
They are bulky to pack and transport. The folding model, the Z-Lite, does that better, but those tend to tear at the folds after a lot of use. The regular Ridge Rest seems to achieve slightly more "plushness" for its weight compared to the Z-Lite.

I had seen another one
I had seen another one that a friend had that very conveniently folded up. I thought I was getting one that folded up, but it didn't You have to roll it up and it doesn't stay that way. It unrolls, and you have to figure out a way to hold it together. That is in no way as convenient and easy to deal with. I was very disappointed, and now I feel stuck with it.

Classic Ridgerest quality, durability, and low weight
Bought a few of these tough Ridgerests for my daughters for backpacking. Lighter than the Therarest inflatables and tougher for the abuse kids can throw at backpacking gear. Works well in a hammock or in a tent.
