Great for Mosquitos
I have had a chance to use this several times now in the Adirondacks. It does a really good job at repelling mosquitos and most other flying insects. The claimed 15 feet is a bit much but it definitely covers an area big enough for cooking or just sitting about. Haven’t used it for black fly season yet but I hope it will work just as well then.

It does repell mosquito
The working principle of this device is to warm the mosquito repellant by a very soft candle fire which consumes very little gas. When the device is properly setup, the mosquitos, when entering the nearby area, would become a fool and forget to land on human skins! They look like forget what to do and leave us alone! very interesting! It is the experience when I first use. I am not sure if it will be the same for all situation but my first experience is that it works.

Dont Bug Me
I first purchased one of the portable models when they came out and have used it since then and found it to be very effective at keeping away mosquitos and even somewhat effective at blackflies both of which we have in abundance in New England. The problem I had with the first model was that it required special butane cartridges which were both inconvenient to carry and expensive. In spite of the inconvenience, I used the thermocell consistently from the end of March to October for trips throughout New England and found it greatly enhanced my enjoyment of camping and backpacking. Last summer my backpacking partner purchased this model which works off regular butane canisters, no more special orders or running out of cartridges. I was sold immediately, and would highly recommend this product to anyone who loves the woods but hates to be eaten alive by mosquitos. THANK-YOU Thermocell!!!

Backpacker Mosquito Repeller
Ok I have used this product n two different camping trips. This last trip was a life save where the mosquitos were horrendous. It does take 30 plus minutes to really notice a difference but it does help. Ot 100 percent but significantly so you can enjoy your trip! I didn't realize until after I read the inset that this shouldn't be used near wate or food. So am wondering about side effects. Said in advertisement save too people an d animals but after reading insert about hazardous effects on water not so sure. I use it only if absolutely necessary.
