The Westwind Stove and Trangia Burner worked exceptionally well. I used them in the dark on a cold night with the wind blowing. I used a piece of foil as a wind break. The three pc stove was very stable, easy to put together and take down and cooled off quickly for repacking. I added the simmer ring to the burner and expended my burn time. For the money this is a great deal. it is now my go b

Simple to use, compact and relatively light weight assures this will go with me on day hikes when I might want a hot meal and/or beverage. I'll use the burner in several kits but the westwind stove will get lots of use. Yes, use a windscreen for greater efficiency, I don't know about the pot height as mentioned in another review, perhaps a modification to the stove would correct this. Did the d

I bought this stove to replace a ESBIT stove of the same design that leaks. The simmer ring/flame snuffer is difficult to put on the stove while burning and it doesn't snuff the flame well. However the stove itself is well constructed and the burner support is a good, lightweight desiign. It does not work with a pot diameter less than 4 inches. The Vargo 8oz fuel bottle was a free bonus, incre

I've had my stove for 15 years and it hasn't failed me yet. Excellent for dry baking because the flame isn't so intense that it burns out the bottom of the pot.(Don't use non-stick pots for dry baking) Makes a muffin or bannock loaf large enough for 2 people in about 20 minutes or a snackin' cake in about 15 minutes. It will also perk a small pot of coffee in 10 minutes.
Not especially good in t

I love this stove. I have been using it for sevaral years. I purchaed this one so that I would have an extra. This stove is stable, easy to light, and very fuel efficient. It can be carried with fuel in it. The lid has an O-ring seal and will not leak. I love the simplicity and lack of mechanical parts. It is virtually impossible for this stove to fail. It does take longer to heat water than gas st

Just use this stove to make two large bowls of pasta in about 10-15 min. I used about 2oz of alcohol, or half the stove full to boil a little less that a liter of water (had to take a sip first). It was enough to feed me and my girl after a 6 hour, 10 mile hike. The fire ran out just as we finished.

If I had to use this burner and pot stand the way the picture shows it, I would only give it one star. This stove and pot stand is almost useless without a good wind screen to block the wind and concentrate the heat. As pictured, the pot is not in the hottest part of the burner flame. The best way to use it is to put the burner on the ground, then flip the pot stand upside down and push it over

You are actually getting two products with this set. A Trangia burner, and a fold up pot stand which I believe is made by Liberty Mountain. First off the Trangia burner is a good alcohol stove with the nice feature of a sealing lid which gives you the option of storing alcohol in it. It burns for over 20 minutes with 3oz of fuel. The pot stand folds flat and is easy to carry. It is most stabl
