True, it's a small knife, and can't open accidentally while on a carabiner. Can hardly open when off the carabiner as well - that same feature that makes it "safe" on a biner makes it really hard to hold while opening and really easy to drop. Takes two hands to open it, at least the one I got is super stiff. For me, a slightly larger knife that you can actually hold on to is worth the extra weight and bulk.

Compact Cutter

by Canyon Slayer, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on March 29, 2024
I use this knife for cutting webbing in canyons. It's fine if you don't use it frequently, which I don't. If you plan on doing more cutting, you may want to go for one of the other options. If you want super compact, light, and something you will barely notice on your harness...this is it.
Pros:
  • Small, light
Cons:
  • short blade
Best Used for:
  • cutting webbing

It is truley a "micro knife".

by Michael P., from CO, United States Written on May 3, 2017
Nice piece of hardware. Sharp and well made. Too small however. When it delivered I did notice that the packaging identified it as a "micro knife". My intent was to add to my canyoneering gear after the experience of having my shirt bind up in my rappel device - which I was able to remove by hand and figured having a blade to do the work if needed was prudent. When fully open or fully closed, the blade gives great access to a carabiner. To open the blade however you do need to take it off the biner and use two hands to open (I'm working on a one handed technique). The size of the handle vs. blade makes it hard to open smoothly and I fear that I will drop it. I may work up a lanyard of sorts to see if that helps. I won't be relegating it to my keychain as I tend to lose those at the airport...my problem!

Cute and sharp

by Amanda M., Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 24, 2016
Clever design, adorably tiny but unnecessarily too small. It's sturdy and lightweight but gets lost amongst other gear on my harness.

The blade is super sharp, the detent snaps the blade in securely. Again though, unnecessarily small. Should have been half the price.

Small, but functional knife.

by Midwest Mike, from IL, United States Written on April 5, 2015
I received this knife with a decent edge, and a good fit and finish. It's small, size wise, but I'm relegating it to a backpack top pocket clip or a carabiner on my climbing harness.

Small and Sorted

Best knife I've seen. Small, difficult (to impossible) to open while it's on your harness. I put it with my nut tool and then forget about it... until I need to replace some tat.

Light and small

I was wondering why this knife made of SS440-C, and claim to be surgical grade. Below is what I find (abstract from various site).
1. maximum hardness or abrasion resistance
2. The chromium gives the metal its scratch resistance and corrosion resistance. The nickel provides a smooth and polished finish. The molybdenum gives greater hardness and helps maintain a cutting edge.
3. easy to clean and s
