The Ra is Tenaya's best-selling model in the USA, and for good reason. It's slightly downcambered last and low volume heel provide incredible power in the toe-box and a responsiveness like you've never felt. It's an extremely versatile and comfortable shoe that can go from winning World Championships with Ramon Julian to dime-edging up the steepest slabs. Toe-in and smear with confidence, thanks to the Vibram XS Grip rubber. The cotton lining and synthetic upper ensure you always know what to expect out of your Tenayas, because stretch is almost non-existent. The Ra features the most versatile fit of the Tenaya line, with a mid-volume and mid-width last.

This is my second pair of RAs. Finally had to send the first pair for resoling after A YEAR AND A HALF of mostly gym climbing, 3 days a week. Great performance, a bit of a break-in period for my second toes, but well worth it.
I got the Ra's on a whim because I'd heard good things about them online and seen their ads in the magazines. I had been climbing in FiveTen's forever and, while the Anasasi will always be a favorite of mine, the Ra's have met and exceeded my expectations to become my new favorite. The things just bite down on whatever rock I throw at them and are crazy comfortable.
Only used them for a bit in the gym but they really started to feel good after one day. I like that the heel is a bit more shallow than most of the 5.10's I have. The fit guide on Tenaya's website is very good for getting the right size.

I already had a pair, and they were a little loose in the heel after getting them worn in and resoled, so I bought another pair a half size smaller. Great edging, comfy right out of the box. Can't say enough good things about this shoe, and Tenaya in general.

My usual shoes for sport are 5.10 arrowhead. Still have some Anasazi verde for trad. Tried these as my next trad all day shoe. As soon as I tried them on, I could tell the rubber section across the top of the toe area would dig into my foot if smearing on less than vertical sections. Maybe they would break in over time, but I didn't feel like dealing with it. Sent them back. Th... Read more
First time I've heard of this company and decided to give his shoe a try based on other reviews. The quality of the show is great, but it was the wrong fit for my foot. I'm a female and wear a size 6 climbing shoe. The toe and mid foot area fit comfortably, but the heel was much more aggressive than it looked in photos. There was a gap between my heel and the shoe- too much roo... Read more
