The SOLite definitely helped me to stay warm, but I did end up having a cold butt and toes. I recommend having at least two layers between you and the sleep pad for cold weather (I tested it at just below freezing weather). That being said I slept a full 8 hours and was quite comfortable. Definitely a good purchase.

I use it for hammocking

I use this in my hammock when I am camping to keep my backside warm so I don't have to carry an under-quilt. I carry the small because I don't need full length coverage in the hammock. Great Product!

Great Product I was very warm and comfortable. The reflective material works and kept me very insulated in about 35 degree weather. I got a 3/4 length and found it adequate if I use my pack at my feet to keep my feet from hanging off. I found it also very comfortable compared to my inflatable thermarest.

I'm too old for this

I knew I needed a sleeping pad for camping, and tried to go low end for a start. I would tell you I'm too old for this mat to be useful, but my 10 year old couldn't sleep on it either. Its new use is as knee protection when packing up the tent.

Q how does this fold up or roll up. my son is going to philmont in august and space is a must to get things in small and light weight packages.

The Therm A Rest RidgeRest SOLite Sleep Pad rolls up and is available in two sizes, large and regular. The large pad rolled up measures 25" long and 8.5" in diameter, and weighs 19 ounces. The regular pad rolled up measures 20" long and 8" in diameter, and weighs 14 ounces.
