Product Info for Rab Element Solo Shelter

The Element 1 is a minimalist single-person shelter, for fast-and-light trips, designed to be erected with two trekking/ski poles.image

Made using ultralight Sil-Coat Cordura fabric, which is fully waterproof and incredibly strong, the Element 2 can be combined with modular components to create a year-round shelter system.

2 guyline points provide additional stability in strong winds and a minimalist floorless design is ideal for dugout basecamp snow conditions.

I'm 6' 1" and this borders on being too short, especially when rain comes down at an angle, as it frequently does. The whole set-up weighs just 292 grams (10.3 ounces) packed as it is from the retailer, which is lighter than advertised, and that weight includes six v-stakes and small stuff sacks that come with it. This simple shelter is PLENTY with a simple bivy and bag.

The shelter will require very little flat space to rain cover one's sleeping system AND is very LIGHT. With titanium spikes and a simple string she's up and ready in seconds. Use your rain gear to cover the backpack and stuff. Crawl in and sleep happy out there.
