This dinner made our backpacking trip easy and it was delicious and filling. The fact that Campsaver has so many freeze dry dinner choices makes shopping for supper for the back country a pleasure. Cooking and cleanup is convenient too - super easy to make in the bag. After a long day of backpacking, you'll be happy you made this choice. A great hot Italian meal - Enjoy!

I bought these based on a recommendation from a friend. Really great. I can confidently hike up and down steep trails that are solid ice. I've seen people on the same trails turn back with "lesser products". The top strap and larger tooth (1.5 cm vs. 1.0 cm) seems to make them different from Kahtoolas which are also very good. They seemed to do fine with those two, so probably could do well with either. These are well build and will bot break or fall apart quickly like some knock off or no name brands do. They also come with a tote to keep them from chewing up gear in your pack when you are not wearing them. When you get back from using them, be sure to hang them up to air dry so they don't rust. Very pleased with this purchase.

An inexpensive alternative to the other trowels out there and does the job well. This is such a great improvement over my old orange trowel. Serrated edges dig through stubborn soil. A must for backpacking. Very sturdy.

This is a great way to keep your water cold in the summer or keep it from freezing in the winter. Well built, light weight with a belt loop and zipper closure. A wonderful addition to anyone's hiking arsenal. Even makes for a great gift for the guy or gal who has it all. Fits a full 1 liter size Nalgene water bottle perfectly.

So much goodness in under 6 pounds! (Less than $1.5 pounds per person.) This tent actually fits four (4) full sized people. The pole structure is simple thanks to color coding, setup is a breeze. There is a mainly meshy canopy so condensation doesn't build up. I own many Big Agnes products and their quality and my experience with BA tents means this one has the strength to handle gusty winds, heavy rain, and even a little lite snow in a pinch. It is too bad BA does not give footprints out with their tens like some other manufacturers are doing these days. This means you're going to want to buy one to provide added warmth and protection against the waterproof floor. All in all, this is a great tent if you need room for 3-4 people. (I'm pleased.)

A group of friend and I have been using these filters for years. In less than one minute, I can filter a liter of clean, safe and delicious water. The filter has carbon in it to help remove any bad tastes - not all filters do. Some just filter for bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae, spores and sediments but the addition of the carbon is important to me - I want my water to taste good and be safe. This filter accomplishes that.

This pad folds easily but requires a lot of space. It offers you good insulation properties compared to many inflatable pads. You don't have to fight to get the pad to lie flat out. A good deal all the way around - can't go wrong with this one.

I basically use this stuff periodically to refresh my water repellent finish on my Durable Water Repellent (DWR) clothing like my rain pants & hard shell. Nikwax makes a quality product and Campsaver had it at a reasonable price so I stocked up. I also use the spray versions, but from time to time this wash version really does a great job getting the baseline back. Be sure to read and follow the directions. Happy Trails!

I purchased the 1.8L System over the 1L system as this system allows for a remote fuel canister, larger pot and a lower center of gravity so tipping is less likely to occur. I have also purchased the compatible MSR WindBurner Accessory Sauce Pot - 2.5 Liters for larger group trips and campground cooking rather than backpacking. For backpacking MSR also makes a 1 Liter Windburner accessory pot as well as a coffee press if you're interested. I plan on predominately utilizing this stove with the 1.8 Liter pot for weekend backpacks for two. Sharing the stove weight between two people will reduce what the two of us need to carry.
Pros:
Wind resistant
Fast Boil
Easy storage
Relatively Lightweight - 625g (22oz.) including the 1.8 Liter Pot
Allows for a greater array of pot/pan attachments (including some that are Ceramic) than the WindBurner Personal Stove System
Cons
May not simmer as well as some other stoves - I am not 100% sure. I mainly have this system to boil water for coffee and dehydrated means.
Overall:
Happy with purchase. My intended use for this will be for 2-3 people backpacking, camping (3-7 nights), and car camping but not recommended for thru-hiking.

This is a foolproof Lantern - no mantles to lose or break or need. The light output is not as much as you would get from a mantled lantern, but I am fine with that. I can't tell you how many times I need a mantle to get light & had none with me. This is a simple & effective lantern. See the light & enjoy.
