Most Helpful Positive Review Bomber biner
I got this to go with a Megajul Sport, and with a little use so far, it seems to work well. I got the locksafe model, and between the extra unlocking step, the keeper wire, and the horn, this thing will never, ever fall off my belay loop, drop the belay device, or get cross-loaded. It's a little tricky to get on and off the belay loop, but I'm sure I'll get more used to it, and it's worth an extra second for the added security.

Prevents cross loading

by Evan, from WY, United States Written on October 7, 2023
I decided to try both the twist lock and standard lock gate style of this carabiner for a belay carabiner with a Gri-gri. I've previously used the BD Gridlock, and I find this carabiner to be much more user friendly. The tab on the outside of the spine also keeps the Gri-gri from cross loading very effectively, which is useful in lead rope soloing. I use the twist lock carabiner more often, just because I can't forget to lock it. But both are useful and have their place!

Solid and does the job

I own several DMM carabiners, and I'm a huge fan of how smooth the twist gate closure feels on their models. This one is similar - solid construction, the gate closes exceptionally smoothly, and the "spring" at the bottom of the carabiner keeps things properly oriented on belay.

Good locking carabiner

I use this with my Edelrid Mega Jul. This works great with that belay device. Simplistic and well built design. For the price this is a great locking carabiner. Can't wait to put this through more tests.
Pros:
  • Light weight
  • durable
Cons:
  • Not the quickest locking mechanisms
Best Used for:
  • Belaying

DMM Ceros locker. Perfect solution for me.

by BBob, from AZ, United States Written on September 21, 2019
I've been using the same locking biner with a gri gri for 25 years and not that it's been a big deal but often enough I look down to check and the biner is cross loaded. A while back I added a second gri gri for the gym with a different style locking biner but for consistency (safety) sake I wanted two of the same. I chose the DMM Ceros for the belay loop clip and the horn. Both features work perfectly to keep the biner and gri gri in place, no more looking down to find it cross loaded and no more having to flip it around taking focus away from the belay. It's a small thing but I like it. The belay loop clip is easier than expected to use so no big deal there getting it in and off the harness.
Pros:
  • Keeps belay device located where it belongs and eliminates cross loading.
Cons:
  • None so far.
