This backpack carries great. I got the short torso, I'm female, and I find that 'women specific' items don't fit me, so I bought the short torso of the regular model. I carried it 5 days/4 nights in Beartooths, and it is the most comfortable pack I've worn since I gave up my Kelty external frame. Yeah, it has lots of extra straps etc, but I carry a light but bulky sleeping pad, and I could strap it on the back easily. Fishing rod, lightweight wading shoes can go on the outside. For those who use a water bottle rather than a hydration bladder, at first I found the water bottle side pocket to be too tight. But I figured out that if I put the water bottle in the pocket before I put my sleeping bag in the bottom of the pack, then the bottle comes in and out just fine.

I just got back from a 5 day 4 night backpacking trip on Isle Royale National Park. I had a full weight of 32lbs and the pack felt light and comfortable after adjusting. I put on 7-8 miles the first 3 days and a bit less the other 2. I was able to fit all necessities for backcountry camping for 5 days. The front access was pretty nice although I found I only needed to use it once on this trip since I put up my tent in different locations each night. But it was handy. I did use the lumbar pack one time and that was convenient. I'm not an experienced backpacker, but this pack helped me have an enjoyable time.

I bought this pack for weekend backpacking trips as well as extended travel. I serves me well in both settings. I used it while traveling around South Asia for several months and the front access panel was a great convenience factor. I also have used it on a number of short backpacking trips. I removed the lid and it cinches down nicely for light loads or day hikes. But the suspension is also well built and it carries heavy loads well over uneven terrain. The only thing I would change is I wich it had a pocket on the hip belt for easy access to camera/snacks.

I used this pack for several times of hiking, the longest is 8 days in Himalaya. This pack is just 1.8kg, but have very high wight capacity, I load more than 45lb but still comfortable. But there is still space to improve, the lumbar pad is not thick enough, it will be better if it is the same as Gregory Baltoro.
There is no hip belt pocket.
There are many straps around the pack, so it is easy to compress the pack really tight even there is not so much load.
The access system with two large zipper is very useful. Very nice feature.
Pros:
- Light weight, heavy load capacity

Been on the hunt far and wide for an affordable Granite Gear Nimbus Trace backpack for the past 3 years since I borrowed a friends to walk the Camino De Santiago(stellar performance!) but was always outside my acceptable price range, then, I found campsaver.com, quickly ordered one online from the UK and even allowing for the customs import tax I saved a packet compared to the UK price. It arrived during the week after a slight delay and happily packing it out, walking around the block testing different configurations currently! This pack is in a class of it's own when it comes to a comfortable carry system for multi-day long distance rigorous adventures...

This pack is absolutely awesome for organization. Huge side pockets can fit a lot of water. I love the front zipper access which acts like a suitcase, so you don't have to take everything out of your pack just to get something in the bottom. Only complaint is the ridiculous length of all the straps, adds unnecessary weight and will be flapping around like crazy while in use.
Pros:
- Semi lightweight
- Good weight distribution
- Easy access to load
Cons:
- Straps. So many straps everywhere

I've owned various packs over the years - Osprey, Gregory, Cabelas XPG, Mountain Hardwear. This year I decided to try this pack and am i ever happy i did. Majority of the pack weight (normally 38-40 lbs) is definitely being transferred to the hips with light pressure on the shoulder straps - never quite had that kinda comfort before. Tons of straps for lashing. Love the large mesh pockets for storing water bottles, tent poles, or whatever else. And the straps on the hip belt accommodated my camera, bear spray and a molle or two. The frame panel is easily adjustable as well. Highly reccommended!
