Supercoolfeatherweightdown
I am an Illinois flatlander, ergo not an Alpine Climber. However, I am outside ALOT and I did TONS of research (and made more than one return) seeking a multi-season technical down for hiking, camping, going out/ casual wear, and pulling on for walking the dog or for multi-day bus and recess supervi...

Strange fit for larger stocky build
Everything fits right expect the armpits. The armpits are super tight and uncomfortable. Keep this in mind, if your slimmer this is a great jacket.

Finally a Jacket that Fits
It seems like most outdoor gear brands make their jackets to fit the masses with a mid section that has enough room to accommodate a a typical beer belly. I need the longer sleeve length so stepping down a size doesn’t work. This jacket has a nice slightly tapered midsection that works much better with a backpack and looks better too. Zips up nice and high to keep wind out and overall nice quality feel to it. I’m 6’2” 195 with longer than average arms and the XL fits nicely.

Great Jacket. Fit it more trim than most American brands
Great jacket. High quality materials. Feels quite warm. I wear a large in all major US brands however large in this jacket was a bit slim in the waist. Ultimately returned it due to this but still fine coat.

Montane
Overall I am pleased with the Montane Featherlite jacket. The description stated the cut was regular but it is more athletic towards the slim side. I bought it in a large and it seems like heavier sweaters won't be a good option underneath this jacket. I'm 5'9", 185lbs. It weighs a bit more than Rabs continuum jacket but has more pockets and compartments.

Great jacket
Very warm and insulated considering how light it weighs. Well designed hood. Great quality overall. Would buy again.

Montane featherlite down jacket
Although not yet tested on a backpacking trip, I'm overall pleased with the jacket. Like some other reviews mentioned, I wish they would have allowed for a bit more room in the armpit area. I'm 6'1" and 215 and the XL fits, but by no means is it too big. Love the adjustability of the hood. Sharp looking jacket, but it won't get the true review until my trip in a few months on the JMT

Fantastic. Getting goose down for
Fantastic. Getting goose down for everything. Goose down socks, goose down gloves...going to insulate my house with goose feathers. This jacket is warm on cold days and not heavy or too hot on warmer days. Well worth it.

Wanted to love it
Compared this with the Montbell Apline Light and Rab Microlite (kept the Montbell).
Quality of construction was impeccable and has many nice features, but the boxy fit didn't work for me, I found the fabric quite stiff and was not impressed with the loft for a parka that is supposed to have 5 oz of down. I returned this parka.

my new favorite jacket
As soon as I tried on this jacket, I loved how light and comfy and warm it felt. The hood is fantastic with a good form-fitting shape and plenty of adjustment points. This is something, I felt a lot of other comparable down jackets lacked- a good hood. It has plenty of pocket space. I'm 5'-10", 170 pounds, and the medium fit me very comfortably, but snug enough to still get my shell over it ea
