Most Helpful Positive Review Great light weight, pack able vest.
Great vest! I have a Neutrino jacket in the Large size, which is great for bundling up in extremely cold weather. It's like a wearable sleeping bag. I wanted something lightweight for milder weather in a slim fit design. I debated but went with a medium. British medium is good for me. I like the sli...

Most Helpful Negative Review Fit is way off
First off, the good: Rab quality is top notch. And for a vest that’s billed as an ultralight, it has enough insulation to feel like you’re wearing more than an extra nylon shirt. Big plus for me is that it has an outside front pocket. Nearly none of the ultralight down &/or synthetic vests have this...

Great fit!

by Bonnie, from WA, United States Written on December 13, 2023
My husband is picky about clothing, but he loves this vest. Campsaver was easy to work with and provided great service.
Pros:
  • fit, color, warmth
Cons:
  • logo is a bit large

Pretty much perfect

by Kootenay, from CA, United States Written on January 9, 2023
Very well made down vest, with good insulation, three nice large pockets, well fitting collar that comes high, nicely done drawstrings at the bottom. Highly recommended.
I think the hydrophobic treated down makes sense. The little stuff sack is much easier to use than trying to squeeze the garment into a pocket. As for use, I bought it mainly to be able to put on and take off quickly over a shell for added warmth when stopping while back country skiing in cold conditions. Still fits nicely under a shell if I want to wear it there. At 6’ 185 lbs a L would have been right for regular wear, but I went with the XL.

A great fitting layering vest

by va3pinner, from VA, United States Written on November 29, 2021
I purchased one of these 2 years ago. It is well fitting, and thinner than a 'puffy' vest, makes it a perfect layering piece under a shell, or another insulated jacket without adding an unnecessary bulk.
It's always in my pack, even in warmer months. It's one of those garments that you're really glad you have it with you!
the one I own is orange on the inside. It's not designed as a reversible vest, but its been handy during hunting season around here!
Pros:
  • Thin and light weight, very packable, warm enough
Cons:
  • NONE
Best Used for:
  • Camping
  • backpacking, alpine climbing
  • And stylin' around town

Stylish with Exceptional Athletic Cut

by RJ, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on October 31, 2018
This is a very premium vest, with quality durable materials suitable for regular use. Note: It is certainly not the lightest, nor the very warmest for the weight, but is not out of its league on the trail either and simply looks amazing. I think this is best suited for regular trail/city duty but does not replace the higher fill power, lighter and more expensive techy pieces...but then would you honesty just carry a vest for high alpine scrambles and summit attempts anyway?

Lightweight, quality vest

by Pig hunter, from LA, United States Written on August 21, 2018
I am really amazed at the light weight of this vest. It appears to be very well made and I like the baffles that keep the down in place. It has an athletic fit, so if you are a really pudgy, you may want to order one size up.
Pros:
  • Light weight
Cons:
  • None yet
Best Used for:
  • Hiking, city wear, travel

It's thicker than I anticipated.

by James L., Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on March 18, 2016
It's thicker than I anticipated. Very warm and fits very nicely. Wish it was foldable into to pocket but it needs to be folded into a separate mesh bag.
I'd recommend this to others searching for a warm, high quality Rab vest.

fits just right

by Mario G., Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on March 8, 2016
I've tried many vests and most fit loosely. I keep myself in shape and this Rab vest fits just right. It's warm enough for Seattle. I would definitely recommend if you're in shape, it might be tight otherwise.

One con is the zipper is on the non-American side (didn't want to say wrong side).

Perfect vest

by Anthony S., Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 1, 2016
I was looking for another vest after purchasing a few over the years. I am 6'0" and 190 lbs with a 34/35 waist. I needed something that fit me better than the vests I have been wearing (North Face 650 fill -Large). This is a truly exceptional vest. The fit is perfect for anyone who is relatively fit. I had been struggling with the size of the vests since the Med was too small and the large was too big in most brands. This is perfect. The quality is also exceptional. It is made very well and keeps me very warm without a lot of bulk. It should be noted that the collar is. Little higher than others. The only negative that is see is that the logo is in white. I would prefer a more subtle logo. Regardless, I would buy this vest above any other that I have ever tried or seen. I love it and I would not hesitate to purchase it if you are considering it at all. I will also bee looking at More products from Rab since the quality and fit is perfect.
