Most Helpful Negative Review Possible to kick yourself out while skiing
They ski well, are light, tour easy. BUT, on shorter, twin tip skis, or if you get really stretched out for some reason, it's possible for the tail of the lead ski to release the binding on the uphill ski as the lead change begins. It's a perfect mistake thing- I've only done this a couple of times- but it's infuriating and makes me think twice in high consequence terrain (which I'd rather not do). I haven't seen much talk of this issue, but it's worth reporting. YMMV. Oh and the "flex plate" is super fragile, but they ride fine with the tab broken off.

Outlaw vs Freeride

by Brad Briner, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on February 28, 2019
I started telemark skiing in 1994 and most recently switched to NTN from traditional duckbill this ski season. I have both the outlaw mounted on moment bibby pros and freeride on the moment deathwish. The outlaw can be a little finicky stepping into but the spring tension is easier to adjust than the freeride and doesn’t require purchasing new tubes. I have leashes on the outlaw and I prefer brakes but they can be difficult to place on the ski binding. The outlaw does not come with brakes. Overall it’s a decent binding
Pros:
  • Adjustable tension
Cons:
  • Finicky getting into

Excellent quality and control

Was running an older setup with hardwires and T1s and decided to upgrade to NTN. The bindings feel amazing, though it did take me a day or so to get used to the instant engagement and more active feel. After I got used to the feel they are pretty much amazing. 22 has a great history with pumping out superb bindings and this is no exception! The step in function works amazingly well and is super convenient. Stepping out took a little getting used to (the duck butt can catch on the binding, but after a bit you figure out how to quickly get the boot out, even if caught). Tour mode is extremely smooth as well. I normally tour on dynafits and I was impressed with how well these bindings did on the shorter, half day tour I went on (only tour I've done with them).
