Most Helpful Positive Review Very Nice Hiking Boot
Boot performs very well on 8 - 12 mile hikes through the Georgia mountains. Very little initial break-in required, nice toe space for D width size without looking oversized for width, great ankle support over uneven terrain of rocks-boulders and tree roots, good support from preventing forward movem...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not up to Zamberlan's usual standard
I've got a lot of experience wearing Zamberlan boots - my go to boots are the Zam 760 Steep and they are truly a magnificent, go anywhere hiking boot. My plan was to use these Crossers as a lightweight substitute for the 760. Unlike other reviewers I did not, and so far do not find them comfortable ...

Great quality hiking boot

by Rex, from CA, United States Written on November 2, 2017
Quality is great, especially insoles, boot is relatively narrow (compare to my 5 hiking boot listed below) Wide feet probably not recommended. Be careful on sizing, recommend to use the Europe scale size.

Keens Durand
La Sportiva Boulder X
Merrell forgot the model

Long break in

by Richard B., Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on April 28, 2017
I wore these for two 10 hour days to break them in. This was a very painful experience for my ankles. Even after two long days the left boot was still painful. That is when I gave up and returned them. I had read another review that said it was a long break in process but it was worth it in the end. I put my Solomons back on and they felt like heaven after the 2 painful days. I have been wearing Solomon Quest 4D2 gtx for 3 years and I thought I would try something new. It made me appreciate how awesome the Solomons are.

Great hiker but phased out.

by Macflack, Written on January 16, 2017
This is my first zamberlan. Im a nine and a half d and usually fit best in a wide boot. These are a little longer in the foot and roomy enough I have no complaints with the width. Very comfortable boot I've even taken snowshoeing twice with no problems.im sure they are going to hold up great this summer. Impressed enough I'm in the process of buying a vioz 1006 or 996 depending on the comfort.

Excellent hiking shoe that is lightweight with the right amount of structure

by Mike F., Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 4, 2016
My foot loved this hiking boot from the first time I tried it on. It is lightweight, but also provides excellent support and structure for my foot. This hiking shoe is like the cross between a sneaker and a heavy-weight hiking boot. This shoe required very little break-in time - it was very comfortable right out of the box. I have fairly wide feet, so I was a little concerned that the shoe might be too tight. I went up a 1/2 size and found that the shoe is very comfortable. It provides plenty of room in the toe box while keeping my foot securely in place. I'm wearing a mid-weight merino wool hiking sock, and I still have some expansion room in the toe-box. The shoe offers great structure, and has a protective band of Kevlar around the base of the show to help protect the synthetic / fabric upper. I haven't test the water-proof performance of the Gortex, but the shoe seems to breathe and provide good ventilation for my feet. I'll be using the shoe on a segment hike of the AT in mid-May; hopefully it performs to my expectations. So far, I'm very happy with my choice.

Great 3 season light hiking boot

by Bob, Written on June 14, 2015
Been wearing these boots for 18+ months and have put them through the wringer. This is a light hiking boot, suitable for day hikes and light backpacking loads up to at least 30#. But it should not be confused with a heavy pack boot. Modern materials are used to shave weight and add support. The sole is a bit thinner and lighter than some others which probably shaved more weight, it also allows the boot to flex with every step. I've used it in the Smoky Mtns and also on an 8 day pack trip across England.

The tred design does a very nice job of not holding too much mud, unless its got a good amount of clay. It is a very sure footed boot with great ground feel, allowing you to adjust your footing on the fly to keep you sure footed. They handle slippery rocks, grassy hillsides and paved roads with equal ease.

The Gore-Tex held up well ove the time I've owned them, even the wet & muddy trails in northern Englady could not soak through and give me wet feet. These are NOT insulated for winter use, which makes these a 3 season hiker. Even in summer my feet do not over heat, but I did wear them out on a tractor moving snow in the winter and got cold (but not wet) feet.

I like them so well that I bought a pair of the NON-GTX Crosser 129 shoes.

Although it's winter here and I haven't worn my hiking boots much, they seem like a great quality shoe. The fit was perfect.

These boots have very rigid

by Leah G., Written on February 15, 2015
These boots have very rigid construction...ankle support could be better. I am going to try tying them differently to see if that helps. Overall, very pleased with them.
